Yes. It’s a creepy cult. Remember, Grampa Romney fled to Mexico one jump ahead of the law so he could have his multiple wives.

Now Romney is trying to use this to pander and pretend he’s a Mexican? I think I’ll upchuck.

But that’s typical Mormon. Their beliefs are nuts...Romney thinks he’s going to get his own planet, well-stocked with wives, when he dies...but they like to sneak into Christian organizations and pretend they belong there.

They don’t, any more than Muslims do. Jesus to them is just another self-realized prophet. They’re a crackpot syncretist religion founded by a “prophet” who obviously was annoyed about not attracting those of the female persuasion (kind of reminds you of Mad Mohammed, doesn’t it) and built an endless supply of nubile females into his religion.

Gee, what other (so-called) religion has a similar belief?

I seriously doubt any Mormon actually believes most of the stuff that the Mormon church believes...

I think its a nice culture and its a safe environment, and afterall, its all in interpretation....

Christians don't actually believe that its an eye for an eye....we take it figuratively...

there are SO many reasons to mistrust Romney but his religion is not the primary one....

having said that, if he is the nominee, then I'll vote for him...almost anyone is better than bamey boy from Kenya...

Grampa Romney fled to Mexico one jump ahead of the law so he could have his multiple wives.

It was great-grandfather Miles Park Romney, not grandfather Gaskell Romney, who went to Mexico in 1885. And he didn't go one step ahead of the law, polygamy was already illegal in the U.S. Utah became a territory, and Abraham Lincoln signed a law against polygamy in 1862, the Morrill Anti-bigamy Act. The Edmunds Act was enacted in 1884, before Miles Park Romney went to Mexico.

The only thing he was a jump ahead of was the Edmunds-Tucker Act, which threatened to strip political power and take property and possessions away from the LDS church if it didn't stop polygamy.

But Miles Park Romney didn't jump to Mexico so he could legally have multiple wives. Polygamy was illegal in Mexico. All of the polygamous LDS colonies were breaking Mexican law.
