OK, I forgot that Catholics aren’t Christians either (rolls eyes). Go back to my earlier posts where I also defended the rights of Evengelicals.
That is so cute.
Most people and I understand you are not most people say Catholic and Protestant or Catholic and Christian.
Hey gal just trying to help you out.
Madam: if you think that merely quoting the claims of the "new testament" proves chrstianity, then you must understand that mormons believe quoting the claims of the "book of mormon" proves mormonism.
Every religion claims to be true. The scriptures of every religion naturally support those claims. You can't "prove" a religion by appealing to its claims. You have to use objective standards.
Hi MHG,
Thanks for pointing these quotes out. I don’t find them contradictory to the Bible, or to be blasphemous.
If we are to be heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), and inherit all that the Father has to give, it makes full sense to me that our possibility is to at some day in eternity we may become like our Father in Heaven.
Of course He will always be our God, and Christ will always be our Savior, so there is no talk of us becoming higher than, or replacing the Father or the Son.
My last words to you, Jeff, are as follows.
You appear to have fallen for the same temptation and lies upon which satan hooked Eve.Without God's Spirit in you, Jeff, you cannot be perfect; you, as a created human, cannot be perfect except by the coming into your dead human spirit the Holy Spirit of God.
Everyman, and I do mean every including myself, will sin while in the flesh, even after being born again by His Spirit, for it is not the flesh and behavior mechanism which God redeems, it is the dead soul which God makes alive by His Spirit. When you can assert that you are seeking to behave perfectly in order to be worthy, you are proving that your spirit is still dead in pridefulness (to be worthy by behaving perfectly is what you wrote, between the lines, as we both know from studying MormonISM).
No degree of imitating goodness can make your human spirit come alive.
There is ample scripture to show you that The Lord our God is One. God is not one of many gods, God is One. His name is I AM and he did not have to earn the attributes of godhood as the peepstone predator of married women, Joseph Smith, taught in establishing your faux Christianity religion.
At your age I would assume that you have become a member of the LDS inc Melchizadek priesthood. I warn you in the strongest sense I can, there is only One Melchizadek High Priest and He is alive forever more, so there will never be another Melchizadek priest since Jesus arose from the dead.
May The Lord have mercy upon you and shake you out of your darkened stupor before it is too late.
But I have EVIDENCE of my claims...
And, from the grave, your second Living Prophet® speaks as well:
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned;
and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given,
and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.
Brigham Young - JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)
Looks like only the Flds folks are gonna make it; according to a man that spoke for GOD.
God have mercy upon your dead soul, Andy. In not recognizing blasphemy you openly prove you are lost. In seeking to defend such blasphemies you reveal for whom you live, and he as the ultimate hater of God is the death of you.
I guess my INTENTIONS were not clear.
I posted that so that in the future, you'll not be able to claim you never heard about it.
I do not prove anything. The nagging voice inside will do that.
I guess that you'll not be able to post anything from the OT to PROVE Judism, either, if the playing field is level.
Nah...
Just helping them out; in some small way...
no religious freedom in stealing my ancestry and baptizing my Grandma Mormon after her death, who I might add was a very devout Bible (and only the Bible) believing Christian, who vocalized to her family that Mormonism was a dangerous cult. And don’t give me that she could choose for herself crap either, your church is doing this to many families. They violated my ancestors religious rights.
and to several of my ancestors who were quite content to die as born again Bible believing Christians...
All the Mormons outside of Utah that hold public office are liberal democrats.
You’re connecting Jeremiah Wright with Romney and Mormonism? Yeah, you’re way off base. Catholics, Jews, Mormons...all bad to some people. Religious bigotry cheapens anyone who espouses it and it has no place on this forum.
Can we stick to politics, please??
Your tagline exposes you. I’ll write in Jim Robinson before I will vote for your Mormon Mitt.
I do hope for mercy, MHG — my only hope is in Christ.
The problem is that chrstianity assumes the truth of the "old testament." It then claims to "fulfill" it. And chrstians "prove" it does by quoting their own claims.
Both "denial of the antecedent" and "affirmation of the consequent" are logical fallacies. Assuming the truth of the disputed point is "affirmation of the consequent." Denial of the common assumption understood by both is "denial of the antecedent."
Actually, if there were no written Bible Judaism would still be true because of the historical memory of the Revelation at Sinai. It would still be the only revelation of its kind in all human history.
And now a little drek regarding the Mormonic nature of the Mormon jesus:
"Jesus was the bridegroom at the marriage of Cana of Galilee...We say it was Jesus Christ who was married, to be brought into relation whereby he could see his seed [children] before he was crucified (Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p. 82)."There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and on a careful reading of that transaction, it will be discovered that non less a person that Jesus Christ was married on that occasion. If he was never married, his intimacy with Mary and Martha an the other Mary also whom Jesus loved, must have been highly unbecoming and improper to say the best of it." (Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, p. 259).
"In the Church councils, it was spoken of: "Joseph F. Smith_ He spoke upon the marriage in Cana of Galilee. He thought Jesus was the bridegroom and Mary and Martha the brides."(Journal of Wilford Woodruff, July 22, 1883).
"The grand reason of the burst of public sentiment in anathemas upon Christ and his disciples, causing his crucifixion, was evidently based upon polygamy, according to the testimony of the philosophers who rose in that age. A belief in doctrine of a plurality of wives caused the persecution of Jesus and his followers. We might almost think they were Mormons (Jedediah Grant, Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 346)
. "One thing is certain, that there were several holy women that great loved Jesus, such as Mary and Martha her sister, and Mary Magdalene; and Jesus greatly loved them and associated with the much; and when he arose from the dead, instead of first showing himself to his chosen witnesses, the Apostles, He appeared first to these women, or at least to one of them--namely, Mary Magdalene. Now, it would be very natural for a husband in the resurrection to appear first to his own dear wives, and afterwards show himself to his other friends. If all the acts of Jesus were written, we no doubt should learn that these beloved women were his wives." (Orson Pratt, The Seer, p. 159).
You're running out of chances to choose wisely Andy.
I am convinced that Rabbi Saul of Tarsus knew a whole lot more about Judaism and the fulfillment in Jesus than you. But you keep raving for your own ego’s sake. God can work with the hot or cold, but he spits the luke warm out. You might take Abraham’s cue: ‘Abraham believed God and it was counted for him righteousness.’
