Ron Paul signed off on racist newsletters in the 1990s, associates say

Ron Paul, well known as a physician, congressman and libertarian , has also been a businessman who pursued a marketing strategy that included publishing provocative, racially charged newsletters to make money and spread his ideas, according to three people with direct knowledge of Paul’s businesses.

The Republican presidential candidate has denied writing inflammatory passages in the pamphlets from the 1990s and said recently that he did not read them at the time or for years afterward. Numerous colleagues said he does not hold racist views.

But people close to Paul’s operations said he was deeply involved in the company that produced the newsletters, Ron Paul & Associates, and closely monitored its operations, signing off on articles and speaking to staff members virtually every day.

“It was his newsletter, and it was under his name, so he always got to see the final product. . . . He would proof it,’’ said Renae Hathway, a former secretary in Paul’s company and a supporter of the Texas congressman.

I think the charge ‘racist’ now has all the clout of being pelted with a wadded kleenex.

Perhaps you could post a link to a version of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, something international bankers don't want you to read, on his foundation's website. A foundation funded by contributions to his 2008 campaign. A source of pride to his donors, I'm sure.

And yes, I know he's not a racist or antisemite, he simply covets support from and makes money selling racist material to racists, antisemites and conspiracy nuts. To me the same thing, but to each their own.

I am constantly amazed how the media is able to find out everything about: Newt; Romney; Santorum; Paul; Bachman; Cain; Perry; Huntzman; Palin; et. al.
However, they are unable to find out anything about Barack Hussein Obama. Is it not amazing!!!!

They have a bias. Of course most of this information was “published” on FR in 2007-2008. Those who aren’t willing to criticize Paul for his indescretions have no credibility criticizing Obama, though I recognize lots of his support comes from the left.

Everyone has their own opinion. I centainly think his writings are racist. Interestingly, Ron Paul thinks his writings are racist, he simply denies knowing about them other than cashing the checks.

To the rabid Paul cultists, this will mean nothing. They believed the nutcase liar’s slimy denials of them when he had his name in bold at the top of the newsletters, had his signature within them, had his name as editor within them, issued them for decades, admitted to them years ago, and sucked in money from their distribution.

When Paul said he didn’t read them and could not remember who wrote them - I knew he was full of crap.

Wait. He was promoting the Okhrana’s old Protocols of Zion?

If so he is not a racist. He is non compos mentis. No wonder he is such an ideological hodge podge.

Here is a link from the cached version on archive.org.
http://web.archive.org/web/20100312220457/http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=5560

To put it bluntly, Ron Paul’s PAC, The Campaign for Liberty, was selling the Protocols of the Elders of Zion for almost four years and they only pulled it down when SJackson discovered it this week and it was called out on several websites.

The Campaign for Liberty is Ron Paul’s PAC run by his campaign manager and son-in-law Jesse Benton.

Although now CFL says they are ‘not associated with any Candidate’ it was actually started by Paul himself in 2008, the same year they started selling the Protocols on their website.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_for_Liberty

In other words, Paul himself was the head honcho at CFL when they started selling the Protocols.

CFL is the PAC where any political donations made to Paul goes if not spent on the campaign.

Frankly, this is one of the most damning things ever found on Paul and because of the direct involvement, pretty much kills any ‘I’m not antisemitic’ remark he makes.

He actually changed his story in the past month. Now he isn’t denying writing them, but instead, just saying ‘eight to ten sentences’ that were offensive slipped through.

It means nothing to them, BECAUSE THEY AGREE WITH IT.

That is a post directly on their website (it does use ‘blog’s software, but it is a PAC website, not a blog). It was up for almost four years selling it. At the time this was posted, this PAC was directly run by Paul himself.

This would be akin to Jim posting on the front page of this site a link to buy the Protocols (which of course he wouldn’t) like he has links selling Coulter’s book for example.

Nice try defending Fraud Paul, but when you have this much s*** in your house, something is in there creating crap.
