Here's another one from Goobergunch Political Report that doesn't quite agree with the WSJ one:

2012 Republican National Convention
(1144 delegates needed to nominate)
Gingrich Huntsman Paul Romney Santorum Unallocated
Selected 23 2 3 9 2117
Automatic 1 18 1 112
Total 24 2 3 27 1 2229

I don't get these numbers. It claims Romney has 33 delegates total, but then looking at the state totals we get
Iowa 12
New Hampshire 7
South Carolina 0
That doesn't add up to 33, and it's the same for all the candidates. We see Newt getting 23 delegates from SC, and zero from the only two other states and yet the total is listed as 25. The same for Paul, he get's zero from Iowa, zero from SC, and 3 from New Hampshire - which makes 4 in total?

I'm assuming that this is the reason...

The AP interviews unpledged delegates to determine their preferences and includes them in the total.

Discrepancies may be due to Iowa not assigning delegates yet. They are assigned in June and may not reflect the actual caucus vote in Iowa.

Lower down on this site, there is a list saying which states are winner-take-all or otherwise, but it’s pretty confusing.

http://frontloading.blogspot.com/2011/12/republican-delegate-allocation-rules.html

Here is a list of the primary dates and the number of delegates each state has. Although most states are proportional, I’m wondering if anyone can go through the list and say which states are likely to be won by Newt vs. Romney.
