DNR, fed or state?
Here’s what my County Sheriff thinks about that:

I never gutted a deer because I am a vegetarian. But I’ve seen more than a few partially eaten by cougars. Once hub buried a partially eaten deer carcass but the cougar just kept digging it up. I kept watch while he buried of course. We’re a few hundreds yards from BLM land.
What planet do you live on?
Like an idiot I opened the door, he asked if the Kennedy's lived there, I said no, then he asked if the Johnson's lived there. This was back when John Kennedy was prez and Johnson was VP. He stood and looked at a old P/U truck that was parked by the garage. I don't know if he was thinking about stealing it or wondering if a man was in the house.
I called the Sheriff and over an hour later he came and picked up the creep who was still on my property. That was one of the worst hours in my life.
Hon, we’re mostly poor country folk around here, just laying things out like we see them. Computers and silk suits are for the city folk that need such things.
Oh, and which of the wild berries do you prefer?
ROTFL
I am borrowing that joke.
Well, it is true, but that’s another story.
It's been time to move away from cities...
I think tactical Nukes held by a fascist US government changes the whole equation in terms of small rural towns and enclaves trying to ride out shtf times and trying to hold out against hostile government control. A small 5000 person conservative village doesn’t need to have an army sent against it... a tactical nuke or neutron bomb takes out a troublesome region very neatly. Don’t think they couldn’t assemble a neutron weapon very quickly, either.
That’s why the fight will have to be taken directly into the progressive fascists’ faces. I fear the fight that is coming, assuming the Lord tarries for another century or so, may leave 50 to 100 million dead in this nation...perrhaps as many dead as those who this nation has allowed to be killed by abortion. There is precedent for such a notion...God raising up Moses, stating as part of the reason was for the blood of the first born Hebrews that were killed under the grandfather of the then ruling pharoah.
Just when your local cities are trying to push you into pack-and-stack transit-oriented developments.
It’s not going to get that far. Besides that, if they had to nuke my little valley, they’d be nuking every little town in the US.
I’m thinking of the possible need to block off the valley due to collapse, which would included an enfeebled fedgov (they won’t run without constant influx of $). Wandering barbarians and gangs, not so much fear of fedgov peeps.
;)
Bump for later read...
I live a half block from a migrant camp. Scares the hell out of me if SHTF.
Land along the border is very inexpensive. A good guy to reach on the end runs the site mooersrealty.com. If you come from a Northern State the climate is similar...those from the South may find it a bit chilly though. It is certainly a food production center though.
I have spent months looking for reasonable easy way to make potable Water from lakes etc. Just found one. Monolithic dome water filters. Hard to find vendor. Cheaper than dirt has them for 29 plus shipping. You need to get two food grade 5 gallon buckets to build the frame but the rest is included in price. Takes out 99.9 to 100 percent of just about everything.
There is a YouTube video done by a survivalist demonstrating installation.

Ever heard of a “Solar Still?”
All it amounts to is a sheet of Visqueen arched over some damp ground. pretty cheap.
BTW, a plastic soap bucket is as good as a “food grade” bucket, and way cheaper. (free)
>> “The following is a story from Rancho Cordova, California that one of my readers recently sent me....
When I first moved here, it was not a bad place, it was quiet and clean.
However, over the past three years this place has gone to the dumps there are thugs and unruly people everywhere.
I have prevented two car break-ins by scaring these thugs away.
While I was home on thanksgiving weekend, someone decided to break into my apartment.
They trashed my place stole all my items and even took my law enforcement (LE) vehicle to include my equipment.
I m sure they had been watching me for a while because they did not take items that contained my identification.
Thank god, I had my weapon with me.” <<
.
Rancho Cordova is the low rent district of metropolitan Sacramento, California. It has been bad for decades.
>> “I’ve had my eye on this fire station for about 20 years. It’s 54 degrees in there year round.” <<
.
Do you have any idea what you have to go through just to drill a well or build a cistern in Colorado?
All of rural Washington is scheduled for depopulation, under Agenda 21. - No Joke.
