Obviously with longer lives there is a a greater chance that the long term effects (shortened lives) will rear it's ugly head.

Yes. I think of all the "weird" "new" illnesses and the high rates of strange cancers in younger and younger people and such. As I said, this world is a poisonous place.

No way! Spam is made from pork shoulder and ham not from any scraps or throwaway junk.

Finally, I had to leave Dallas.

Best thing I ever did.

It's such a... friendly... place.

McDonalds did something that makes their food like a high powered laxative to my system. I can eat their breakfast stuff but their burgers and fries goes thru me like the Germans thru France. Wendys is still the best...

McDonald's food is poison. They put something in their food that is toxic. I'd rather eat Jack in the Box tacos.

Too bad. I’m looking forward to a trip there next month.

I can't tell if the irony is intentional or not.

It’s unlikely the ‘weird’ new illnesses are caused by the pink slime. See post 40.

I find it odd that the author, almost certainly a ‘recycler’ would see fit to disparage using as much of the animal for human consumption as possible, thus reducing waste. Obviously, as with most recyclers, it’s not about’ saving mother earth’ as it is about making the lives of others as miserable as possible. See my tagline, it fits this situation very well.

As to the illnesses, that’s most likely because science has been able to pinpoint more precisely what the aliment is than they’ve been able to in the past. I predict there will continue to be more and more ‘new’ illnesses than ever before. Along with the more precise diagnoses, more and more cures will be discovered.

Barring a war with Islam here inside the US, longevity of our miserable existance will continue to increase.

Because the FDA doesn’t give a #^*’ about food.
Only drugs.

May God give us strength, because we are in the fight for our lives.

Because the FDA doesn’t give a #^*’ about food. Nor do large corporations. I bet several folks got a nice fat bonus when they discovered the slime. Kind of like how did the Chines figure out the melamine would thwart the protein test for milk, and was cheaper than milk.

Remember Adam Smith:

“People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.”

I’ve tried I/O 3 different ways .... including from the “secret menu.” Still not impressed.

but I can 100% guarantee In-N-Out uses all fresh ingredients

No doubt about it. I just don't care for it. Then again ... I'm not a fast-food burger fan anyway.

I did not mean to imply "pink slime" causes illness. I was simply saying that with all the chemicals and other toxins in our food and environment, we are most certainly seeing an increase in cancers and other illnesses.

Mental illnesses are also through the roof. The drugging of this nation, and especially the nation's children (under the guise of ADD, or whatever label they want to put on behavior problems) is very problematic.

Our longevity has been set at about 120 years maximum, since God set it as such after getting "tired" of dealing with contentious man back when man's life span was hundreds of years (Gen. 6:3). We will not be exceeding that 120-year limit no matter how much science we ingest.

Sorry I missed the irony; wasn't reading closely enough. Guess I should not have noted all the unusual instances of cancers among younger and younger people, despite decent life spans among others.

I was talking about the gradual increase in life span, not the decent life span you reference.

Scientific discoveries have helped us increase the quality and quantity of food available to everyone here in the US and in most parts of the world, including 3rd world, and ever decreasing costs.

Between 1970 and 2009 food cost for the average family decreased 30%, probably the largest long term decrease in history. Obviously prices have climbed since that time, but people still eat for considerably less than they did in 1970, and have far greater variety to chose from.

We are such a wealthy nation, food wise, that people can waste money buying ‘natural’ foods.

Myself, I avoid natural foods whenever I can, sticking to the only other choice, ‘unnatural foods’

” Ammonia is used extensively in the food industry and is found naturally in meat.[”

That’s from post #40.

I suspect it's a combo of ignorance, susceptibility to hysteria from politically-approved sources and a tendency to believe left-wing sources over government spokespeople. In other words, it's religious fanaticism, where the religion is a mishmash of leftist shibboleths.
