VIDEO - Reagan's National Security Advisor Endorses Newt Gingrich
At a veterans townhall meeting in Wolfeboro, NH, Bud McFarlane, National Security Advisor to President Ronald Reagan, explains why Newt has the right experience and knowledge to be the Commander in Chief.
"He also brings to the presidency a knowledge of how to move the U.S. Congress, how to have the courage to go against conventional wisdom, how to balance a budget, and at home and abroad show the kind of leadership that President Reagan did only 25 years ago.
Nobody else in this race has those qualities of knowledge and experience. I'm here because I believe in Newt Gingrich. He can do this. He's the only one who can do this." -- Bud McFarlane

.. Ping!
Interesting how many of the former Reagan team are behind Newt Gingrich. GO NEWT GO!
Bye Bye, Zero.
McFarlane isw a real serious, no nonsense guy.
When Bud speaks, one ought to listen. I hope any Romney fans who might be lurking out there will stop for a minute and think about what this means; namely, Newt is miles closer to Reagan than Romney ever will be. If you loved Ronald Reagan, you cannot possibly favor Romney over Newt. Please, for the love of God, McFarlane knows what he’s talking about and would not lead conservatives astray.
AWESOME!
Brings back good memories!
another one for the Gipper!
Not what I'd call a basis for recommendation. Further, I remember well an interview with Bud McFarlane detailing what a terrific investment developing Pakistan would be. How'd that turn out?
He is a co-founder (with Dr. Henry Kissinger) and Vice Chair of the America-China Society,
Like I said.
O.O WOW. That’s kinda heavyweight!
It’s NOT Bud’s fault that subsequent administrations effed that up. Frankly he was RIGHT. But the US for too long has played the money man with out offering real game changing support.
That’s the nature of geopolitics at times, but it doesn’t mean I like it.
McFarland is a heavyweight endorsement.
Disagree completely. Pakistan is a black hole that, because it is Islamic, will never be a reliable partner, much less bring a return on investment. I'd rather buck up India and make Pakistan somebody else's problem.
Thats the nature of geopolitics at times, but it doesnt mean I like it.
The "nature of geopolitics" has been fraught with the tyranny of the urgent, and way lacking in long term historical and cultural perspective.
To what specifically do you refer?
“To what specifically do you refer?”
I would like an answer to that, too.
Go Newt! Great endorsement.
Wow! That was one excellent endorsement!
HEY FOX PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AFTER YOUR DISGUSTING BIAS AGAINST NEWT.
I’;ve had FOX on for about 15 mins and they have hit Newt 3 times and saying he was no fan of the gipper one headline said.
