From NBC News:
Failing to show early signs of momentum in the Sunshine State, presidential hopeful Rick Santorum on Wednesday signaled he may be cutting out of Florida before the states Jan. 31 primary.
Speaking to reporters here, the former Pennsylvania senator said was unsure if he would be in Florida the night of the primary, committing only to campaigning in the state over the next two days. On Saturday, hell head home to Virginia for fundraisers and to prepare his tax records which he plans to soon make public.

Hey dammit, why would Santorum get out? Guess he just heard where Andrew Coulter said Willard the liberal was the only conservative left in the race. LOL.
If Santorum drops out he’ll back Romney for the same reason he backed Specter. He cares more about ‘winning’ that doing the right thing.
How did that work out for you ex-Senator?
He’s a conservative only when his mouth moves, not his brain.

Arm or leg?
I agree. I like Rick Santorum okay, but. he needs to drop out now. He is just in the way, now. If he drops out, I can imagine that most of his followers would come over to Newt.
Santorum campaigned very hard in Iowa and it paid off. I think he went around every county in a small truck. Iowa is a smaller state than is Florida, so it may have been easier to get around. Plus he had more time being as it was the first one. He only has a week or so between one primary from the next, so he doesn’t have the time to visit all the counties like he did in Iowa.
His attempts to try and make a three man race out of what already is a three man race (ie. Newt, Mitt, and Paul) are failing.
He may try and get some traction after Florida, but if Florida is a bust and he comes in behind Paul, or even ahead of Paul but far behind Mitt and Newt...he needs to get out.
Or they won’t vote at all. Many Santorum supporters do not like Newt or Mitt.
Seems like that was your opus.
BYE!
Santorum was a “Establishment Republican”. I doubt you will see him throwing his support to Newt.
You really nailed it describing Santorum!
Well, I'll just give you the opinion of one who has never been very impressed with the man.
He simply doesn't strike me as presidential. I know that may sound like thin gruel, but that really is how I perceive him, and it counts for a lot with me.
Rick strikes me as a state level politician. He seems to be over-reaching by playing in the major leagues, when he really ought to be back in the minors. Every time I see him at the podium in the debates, he just seems completely out of place to me.
Then, there's his Senate voting record. Huge deal-breaker there. I won't post the whole thing again, but here's a link:

Well what do we have here another one who does not know the rules!! IBTZ!! The Viking kitties are coming!

If he is running out of steam and money, this is a big deal. I just hope he leaves with the same class and timing that Perry did. According to the link I posted just before your last one, Santorum’s voters break more than 2-1 Newt to Romney.
Rick, you’re a nice guy but this is out of your league. If you can’t take on Florida then you’re just playing around.
I didn’t equate Catholicism with Wahabi-ism. I said Santorum’s policies were PSEUDO-Cathlo-wahabi-ism. I have no problem with Catholics, I have a problem with Santorum’s overzealous nanny state mentality, while pawning it off as Catholicism, that only he’s getting right. He’s a modern day Pharisee. Got it? Good.
Thanks! Thank goodness so few people follow him and his big government platform. What a terrible empire we’d have under his “The Tenth amendment only applies when I say so,” rule. Yikes!
Like Bachmann, Santorum looks good on paper, but just cannot carry it off in the debates.
And I will do everything I have to to make sure Mitt doesn’t get the nomination - and that means supporting Gingrich over someone who looks good on paper but will never win.
