"I am crediting you with being the first to really report on the 'gunwalking' scandal and for covering it extensively on your blog," a student at a prominent law school who is doing a paper on Fast and Furious congressional investigations wrote to me. He then asked me for my take on two fundamental points:
Good questions, and it's nice to see the topic being explored in legal academia. I thought I'd share my answers with Gun Rights Examiner readers:
First, Mike Vanderboegh must receive his share of credit--he is really the first citizen journalist who noticed and reported on the discussions happening at CleanUpATF.org. This is a summary of our work so far. More specifics are available at my WarOnGuns blog--click on any of the (eight so far) Journalist's Guide icons in the left sidebar.

We should extradite Holder and Obama to Mexico.
Welcome to the USSA, comrades.
I emailed the local NBC affiliate and ask them how many times had they had stories on their local newscasts. The reply was one time on their lowest rated newscast.
3) How well has the mainstream media covered this scandal?
I say this because it directly affects item (1).
The answer to (2) is that if it wasn't for the new media, these crimes would never have seen the light of day, and the lawless gangsters in the Federal Government would have gotten away clean.
As it is, the fact that the mainstream media refuses to barely if at all mention this scandal is what keep our already gutless Republican representatives from not pressing the attack more fully.
The jury's still out on the eventual outcome, but I wouldn't be surprised if Obama and his henchmen get away without a scratch.
Sadly so. The media has morphed from the guardians of freedom to the co conspirators on the destruction of liberty and full on participants in the corruption of all things government.
I remember when El Salvador and the “death squads” were the number one story in the mass media just about every day.
Then something happened. They had an election and the pro American candidates won overwhelmingly. Within a couple of days the story simply died.
Something was made clear no matter how much people may deny it. The media hate traditional Americans and love and adore Communists.
It didn't die, it morphed into the Iran-Contra scandal that the Dems tried to use to railroad Reagan.
Thanks, Travis.
