WOULDNT IT BE NICE TO HAVE A SMART PRESIDENT?? Watching this on C-Span I conclude that Newt could out debate Obama in ANY setting!

Outstanding! Not really a “town hall” type meeting. A great speech!

It does matter when 2/3rds of his voters say Newt is their second choice. --
I'm gonna go out on a limb and believe these voters would pick Newt even if Santorum told them to pick Mitt. Ricky is just not that influential or inspiring. To some of his followers, sure. But I don't think Santorum's method of falling out of the race will affect the outcome.

I agree - I felt very hopeful and positive about our future, at long last! I’d almost forgotten what it was like to feel that way - proud to be an American because we did new things so well - during these last decades of negativity, timidity and government suffocation.

He’ll have to dropout first. If he doesn’t it is clear he is in with the establishment!

Yes, he could.
Notice that he did not mention Romney during this speech? He's setting out his own vision, and selling his vision as the one that ought to be followed. That shows an awful lot of self-confidence.

those who are socially liberal are not republicans at all hell their not even conservatives.
They’re more like libertarians and why they feel that they have to make the base change in order to accept them just shows their arrogance.

Newt looking very presidential!

Oh, he's part of the establishment. And he will drop out before the convention. I see him similar to Ron Paul, in it for his own vanity and ego. But he's no kingmaker.
