Mitch Daniels is no conservative. Youve been on FR three months and learned nothing. Let's talk about who knows what about Daniels for a minute. I'm a Hoosier. I hope you are too. Daniels is one of the few that talks more moderate and ACTS more conservative. He reduced and leveled property taxes, Lowered business taxes, has resisted state legislation regulating businesses (smoking, etc.), he sued the fed for Chrystler bond holder dismissal, he sued the fed over obamacare.
We were in a deficit budget situation when he came to office. We are now in a budget surplus situation. He cut state government in everything from government autos to education budets.
Have you heard the latest? Indiana will become a Right to Work state soon. Democrats have been fleeing the state for two years to avoid it.
What say you of his being a moderate?

Daniels was a part of the Bush admin, the budget director, actually. He did not provide a very conservative record when in Washington based on how the spending increased during his time in D.C. If he is loved by the moderates, that is a big, red flag, as well. Indiana isn't Washington. His record in Indiana might be a good one, but his previous time in D.C. suggests that we wouldn't see the same thing from a President Daniels. I would vote for him if he was the guy since defeating Obama is my only goal. But I would have no illusions about the kind of presidency we would get from Daniels. He would be OK I'm sure, like Bush, but just OK.
