STUDIO CITY (CBS) A SoCal woman says the energy efficient window installed in a neighbors condominium is melting the plastic components on cars parked in her carport.
Heather Patron of Studio City was dealing with a mystery regarding her Toyota Prius.
The side view mirrors were melting, says Patron. Anything that was plastic on the car was melting.
Toyota told Patron nothing was wrong with the car. After having the mirrors replaced, she noticed the mirrors on the car parked next to hers were also melting.

Greenies having a tiff. *gets popcorn*
She must have gotten hahold of some really “good” drugs. California...
The only car I truly hate is the Prius.
I despise it more than the Volt, because the Prius is the “status car” of the greenie-weenies.
May they all dissolve into puddles of viscous, gooey, plastic ooze.
Didn’t the Greeks concentrate reflected sunlight on the enemies fleet to burn them to the waterline?
At first I misread it and thought it said peni$.
“The only car I truly hate is the Prius.”
I’m not a Prius fan, but at least it wasn’t pushed down our throats by marxist punk.
*grin*
*snicker*
*chuckle*
*snort*
*giggle*
BWAHHAAAHAAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!
I smell an upcoming episode of Mythbusters here...
Seems I saw that busted on “Myth Busters” or something similar.
Mythbusters looked into that. Busted.
That’s the legend...Although the guys on Mythbusters had a hard time trying to recreate this feat. I wonder if the windows will be declared a public safety hazard after some Women who have had “enhancements” walk by them? AHHH my boobs are melting! LOL
The image deserves the Salvador Dali treatment.
The Prius Dali is supposed to do that.
The Prius, also known as the Pious.
(Although Penis works too, I suppose)...
There was a hotel in Vegas which had to re-engineer its windows which were reflecting enough sunlight into a poolside area that guests were getting serious burns.
It could be that a similar thing is at work here. I’d guess that the law doesn’t allow folks to mount mirrors in ways to cause damage to the property of another, nor would the law allow the accidental harm of new windows installed by some way that caused similar damage to the property of others.
I give them no respect in traffic myself. I cut them off when I get the chance, and change lanes in front of them whenever possible. I don’t expect any badass to pop out of one with a .45.

I infer from this that the fact that her car is a Priuth is irrelevant. Rather, it is an issue with too much reflected solar energy coupled with the direct sunlight that is death to plastic car parts, regardless of the make or model.
