After-action reports - post your Walk for Life / March for Life pictures here!

Hi FReepers-

Let's post our pictures and stories from the various Walk for Life / March for Life events going on this past week!

I think in the past we FReepers were way more activist, and we're going to need to ramp that up if we want to conquer evil in the upcoming year...
...so think of this thread as 1) an invitation to join us next year, and b) a way to get fired up for the work that's going to have to start soon to kick Obama OUT!

I'll start off with my own picts & report - please follow with your own!

Some of us (well, at the very least CounterCounterCulture and I) made it out to the Walk for Life - West Coast this past Saturday in San Francisco. In the midst of a stormy San Francisco weekend, the clouds parted, and 50-55K stood up for life and against the "glamorous" culture of death!

This year, the rally / start of walk was moved to Civic Center Plaza, both due to a scheduling conflict, but frankly, we also just plain outgrew Justin Herman Plaza.

And we're off! Organizers estimate 40 to 55 thousand participated.

A lot of Catholic parishes are prominent supporters of the walk, but support comes from all corners. (CCC and his posse is Protestant, for example.)

An event videographer said it took about 45 minutes for everyone to pass by his fixed position.

Multiple generations... ...who all tilt their signs the same way.

Seriously, this is the opposition. Counter-protesters have been dwindling in number every year - this year, there were hardly any! But - the city found a way to "strike back" (see what follows).

We swamped the city! Going right down Market Street was different, but a) we probably had higher visibility than the usual coast-following route, and b) the buildings formed a canyon that amplified our noise.

Ah, yes, the wonderful government of San Francisco decided to welcome us by breaking their own civic law that is supposed to keep town banners non-political. And they're so pretty, too!

Being with your compatriots standing up to The (chicken) Man is a good feeling.

The juxtaposition says it all.

And we reached Justin Herman Plaza, the end of this year's walk.

Yes, they're out there. They're few, but out there.

Father Jose led the way!

Yet another Pro-Life Beauty. (ALL Pro-Life women are beauties!)

Well, that's my report - add your own, and/or start making plans now to take part in the 40 year anniversary of Roe-v-Wade protests coming up in a year....

Since you all posted on yesterday’s thread reporting on the Walk for Life West Coast, I thought you might like to see pictorial proof!

I don’t see any pictures.

Well, those pictures were kind of big and maybe too tough for my web server to serve up. I just downrezzed them to about 2/3 file size from before - hopefully that speeds things up....

Thanks for the heads-up. Can you see them now?

Can I get a “Catholic Ping” on this? Also, do you know if there’s a “Pro-life Ping” keeper?

I bet you could find or start a walk in your area - contact the people at Walk for Life, and maybe they can help you. The one in San Francisco started off small, and see how it's grown!

Very good report Yossarian. Wife and I could not make it to DC this year so we enjoyed your pictures.

Looks good. Thanks for the ping.

City Hall is certainly more picturesque than that hideous squarish pipe structure near Justin Herman Plaza.

Glad they did without the grisly late-term abortion banners this time.

Thanks for posting. Those pictures are great. It’s encouraging to see San Francisco get such a strong witness for life.
