For those who doubt that a strict enforcement regime will induce self-repatriation, consider what happened in the wake of the Special Registration program set up after 9/11. Under that program, foreigners from some countries were told they must register with the nearest immigration office or risk certain deportation if caught. Among Pakistanis, for instance, about 1,500 who were here illegally (on expired visas etc.) were caught and deported. Word spread. Before long, some 15,000 illegal Pakistanis hightailed out of the country on their own. They knew that formal deportation would decapitate their ability to obtain a visa in the future.
Needless to say, if illegal Pakistanis could self-repatriate to far-away Pakistan, it makes no sense to say that illegal Mexicans could not self-repatriate to next-door Mexico. The lesson here is that when you enforce the law against a thousand illegal aliens, word spreads, and 10,000 others begin packing their bags on their own.

A REAL e-verify program, with actual work-site enforcement, will solve this serious problem. You don't even have to arrest and deport the illegals you catch (that's a logistical nightmare), just fine the employer $2,000 the first time around and $5,000 there after, for each illegal they employ.
Dry up those jobs and the illegals will deport themselves.
Instead of trying to end birth-right citizenship (which we SHOULD do, but it'll take quite a while) just don't give the parents a work visa.
Nothing could be easier.
What happened to our Alien Registration Law? Why not require all aliens-—legal and illegal to register or face immediate deportation if detected?
Tell all Red Necks that an Illegal Alien helped kill Dale Earhardt and put a “No Bag” Limit on ‘em and WATCH ‘em RUN back accros the border!
It really isn’t that difficult to deter most foreign nationals from living here illegally if you just impose a few dis-incentives.
1. Show proof that you were born here with a valid BC in order to obtain a passport, driver’s license, stat id card, or a voter registration card. Also require proof of id when voting.
2. Eliminate ALL forms of welfare, aid, and government handouts to illegal aliens.
3. Make it easy for police departments to check on citizenship status or visa status when an individual is stopped for a violation.
Those three suggestions would drive a good majority back to their own countries of origin.
Yes, that would do it.
Someone put Obama through E-Verify and he didn’t pass.

ID cards, and hefty penalties for companies who brake the rules WOULD DO THE TRICK. A year later (until RESULTS can be verified), the creation of a viable "work program" for foreigners who want to take advantage of it. (i.e a Time limit, say 4 years, only on the jobs that Americans "don't want to do," maintain a clean record, LEARN ENGLISH... or only take those who know English already, etc, etc, etc
YES, IT COULD BE DONE... but the "Establishment" does not want to do it... and they are the ones who buy the politicians... and you DO know, about POLITICIANS, don't you?... :)
Lastly, do you see why we should TIME LIMIT these crooks???? (congress/senate).. if two terms is good for the president of the U.S. why could not the same rule apply to the other crooks?... why not?
It’s not going to happen because our legislatures on all levels are whores of whoever pays for their (re)election campaigns. And that largely means lawyers and businesspeople, including those who profit off of illegals.
The sources of bribes were public information before the creation of Superpacs. The Big Money corruption has gone fully underground, now. The rest remains in public view.
An E-verify that checks SSN against IRS home / work address requirement for all employees. A six month implementation for business to give them time to change processes and record their documentation. Then a INS / IRS cooperation to ensure that each W4 is accompanied by an E-verify confirmation / case number. Then a final 6 months to resolve any descrepancy case numbers.
That gives you 18 months of implementation and enforcement. AFter that, start hitting businesses with tax adjustments based upon failure to comply. Set up a whistle blower number where individuals can report in on e-verify cheats and receive a portion of the penalty as a reward for their whistle blowing.
24 months after the start of this plan, you will make it very difficult for any businss to hire an illegal alien. Only under the table type work will be possible. This will drive a lot of workers out of the country and self deportation will start to happen. Further, word will spread and it will reduce the number that come here in the first place.
For illegals that are here but are arrested for non-violent crimes, have an option for them to work 2 years in a hard labor camp making compressed earth blocks that will be used to build the wall(s) for the southern boarder. Alternatively, teach them how to lay bricks and work on building the wall itself. Give the option of working hard and earning X number of points and then they can be deported to their country of origin. Points will be given for brick production, transportaion, laying, support services such as cooking, laundry etc. Points will be taken away for fighting and other rules infractions.
It worked in Alabama, until activist Obama administration folks started interfering. All of the poor illegal children scared to go to school for fear of deportation. Not sure what the status of that in Alabama is, come to think of it. Unemployment numbers went down dramatically, but we barely heard a whisper of it. Go Bama, roll Tide

And that’s why TERM LIMITS is the perfect solution against the corruption in our government.
With all due respect, the heck with a fine. I’d put some real teeth in e-verify, levying fines and jail time to law-breaking employers.
If we are ever able to get a real conservative elected as POTUS as well as having a conservative Congress elected it shouldn’t take much to get it implemented nationally. The laws are pretty much all there but its a matter of enforcing them that is the problem.
The reason term limits won’t work here is the same reason they didn’t work in ancient Rome. (Many of their offices did have limits of terms of various sorts.)
Representatives of the people there saw each office as a stepping-stone to greater office, and better opportunities for power and money. So, a tribune of the plebs, for instance, would step up to the office of censor, or somesuch, with their eye eventually on Senator—and Consul, if they’re really ambitious.
The potential progression here is easy to see: Representative, Senator or Governor, President...then “lobbyist,” which is the office of an insider who hands out bribes to the rest.
The system is broken beyond repair. We plebs just have to accept this.
/By the way, the single lesson history teaches is that nothing changes, because people don’t change. We are the same self-absorbed, ignorant, sports-addled fools as the Romans of the late Republic. And another set will replace us long after this nation is gone to dust.
There was no Internet in Rome or until very recently. We can now band together, compare notes and take action if needed.
Before we were at the mercy of the MSM!... and all the lefty intellectuals... and we just followed but now it's a bit different, don't you think?
I agree completely about the Internet. I really can’t understand why the Big Money let this cat out of the bag, so to speak.
However, for every aware and awakened citizen who bothers to educate themselves, there are fifty whose principal concerns are televised sports and what toys they can buy next.
Similar proportions doom nations, regardless of the availability of information.
To paraphrase Agent K in “Men In Black”...”individuals can be extraordinary, but people are dumb herd animals.” There are fewer true statements.
/please note that I’m optimistic in the long run for mankind. Every nation buildt is an improvement on the last.
