Buffet’s BNSF Railroad transports est. 75% of the oil from North Dakota !!!! He’s LOSES if the Keystone gets approved.
I live here in the Bakken field. They are building rail loading sites all over the place, hauling by truck and pipelines but it isn’t enough. We need to get more pipeline capacity to take some of the stress off the roads. The volume of truck traffic here is unbelievable.
The following was put out last week....
TransCanada Corp. (TRP) may shorten the initial path for its rejected Keystone XL project, bringing oil from Montanas Bakken Shale to refiners in the Gulf of Mexico and removing the need for federal approval.
There certainly is a potential opportunity to connect the Bakken to the Gulf Coast, Alex Pourbaix, TransCanadas president of energy and oil pipelines, said in a telephone interview today. That is obviously something well be looking into over the next few weeks.
