No you don't.
Many of today's liberals embrace the death toll of the last century, and consider it a good starting point for this century.
Some modern "Liberals" want to exterminate 90% of the human race, the survivors living in caves, foraging for roots and berries.
Others would be quite happy with many of us dead, the rest in chains, while they jet merrily between their dachas on Central Park West, Jackson Hole and Key West.
By the way, by some accountings it's closer to 200 million than 100 million.
The distillation process has worked to move the people we're talking about from revolutionary action to revolutionary passion, to merely passion. They have incredible material possessions, they have given up God, and there is a void that they must fill with passion. And passion directed by the cynical is a powerful weapon.
It tends to be a little hard on the passionate, however, and they tend to be resentful if they ever do figure out that they've been used. But the thrust of the article is toward the failure of intellect, and that is precisely what happens when passion rules.
These aren't liberals, not really, not anymore by whatever criterion we use for that nebulous term, and the current fashion of relabeling them as "progressives" serves only to illustrate the point. Progress, toward what? Well, toward everyone feeling good. And death to anyone who makes them feel bad. That may be a lot of things, but intellect it is not.

Excellent show on C-Span this morning covering the Conservative Black Forum in DC, moderated by Star Parker and including panelists like JCWatts, Reps West and Scott, and numerous black ministers, mayors, sheriffs et al - lots of discussion as to why blacks usually hold conservative views personally but go out and vote leftwing when it comes time to put values into action - “When you’ve heard that two and two make seven all your life, and finally hear that it actually makes four, it takes a while to sink in” is the way one panelist tried to explain the problem.....
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.
Or you can get raw with these strings.
How about this gamechanger from America's Got Talent (which they SHOULD have won).
And finally, this, dedicated to the one and only rdb2, whose eyes are growing dim.
Either way, the violin is sweet yet LETHAL.
Do it!

You don’t have to show any intelligence when you’re the emperor.
Wow! That is a stomper of an article.
