Don’t like Newt’s answer on Dream Act. Although tolerable, I don’t feel they deserve to serve in our military. Dont’ want foreign people with questionable loyalties serving in the military, with access to weapons, etc.
Also don’t NEED them flooding the benefits roles, or to have to support their endless dependents until the end of time. This could EASILY bust the military/TRICARE budget to smithereens.

And Romney agreed, but we definitely should not allow illegal aliens to enlist if the gov't follows through on the proposed force reductions. Citizens who want to serve might not find slots, and we should accept no illegals under those circumstances, or any circumstances, IMO.
Serving in our military as a ‘fast track’ to citizenship has been part of the immigration policy since before WWII. Both my great uncle and my step great uncle served before they were citizens.
However, they were both here legally as refugees.
