Stop right there. Is that how you think judges are selected? You simply go out there and get the "best available legal minds?" Not withstanding the fact that the "best" is subjective, and that you are probably going to appoint someone with your ideological bent regardless of their "legal mind", you are completely ignorant of the fact that appointing judges is a very political exercise. No one goes out and simply appoints "the best legal minds." As if all of those people even want to be judges.
Right. A leader who values the constitution will appoint a constitutionalist. A leftist social engineer trying to force radical societal change will appoint homosexuals.
That may be the reason most of us are upset with Christie, doncha think?
