SAN FRANCISCO -- City officials have temporarily evacuated a condominium building at the base of San Francisco's Telegraph Hill after several boulders slid down the hill and crushed a parked car, authorities said.
The boulders, apparently loosened by the weekend rain, slid down the hill near Lombard and Montgomery streets around 9:30 a.m., officials said. No one was hurt.
The bottom floors of a multistory condo complex at 240 Lombard St. next to the hill has been evacuated while engineers from the city determine if any more boulders could fall, officials said.

— A rockslide near San Francisco’s Telegraph Hill crushed a car and caused the partial evacuation of an apartment building Monday morning in the wake of several days of rain.
The rockslide was reported at 9:37 a.m. near Montgomery and Lombard streets. Rocks landed on a parked car, but no injuries have been reported, fire department Lt. Karen Kerr said.
She said the second through fourth floors an apartment building have been evacuated as a precaution and the area has been cordoned off.
Dawn Walker, who lives on the sixth floor of the building, said she wasn’t sure what happened at first.
“I didn’t know it was a rock, I thought it was an earthquake,” Walker said.
