WASHINGTON -- Brady Campaign Acting President Dennis Henigan today issued the following statement in response to U. S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords announcement that she would resign her seat in Congress this week.
"We understand but are deeply saddened by the news that Rep. Giffords has decided to resign her seat in Congress because of the demands of her continued rehabilitation from the gunshot wound she suffered a year ago in Tucson. Congress and the American people now have lost the service of another devoted public servant because of gun violence. It is sadly reminiscent of the nation's loss of Jim Brady as Presidential press secretary due to a similar gunshot injury 30 years ago. We hope Rep. Giffords' departure is only temporary and wish her well on her amazing and inspiring recovery." Share This Story
I think you only got the year wrong.
Here are my previous covers. I wish I could fit Castigo Cay onto that bar and make the triple a foursome.
Thanks - looking forward to reading it. Kindle is just a great thing when you run out of reading material in the middle of a TDY!

If they couldn’t even put a bill on the floor this year, I wonder when they will ever be able to do it.
I rather like to picture Travis on his boat anchored in some calm picturesque lagoon with a refreshing beverage in his hand and numerous buxom females cavorting about.
I think you’ll enjoy it.
We're still together, BTW.
Soon as I get the Kindle application for my droid, I’ll get a copy.

Agreed. Imho, it seemed clear fairly early on that serious damage was done, damage that was unlikely to be repaired.
If they could have they would have.
This was my first thought as well.
The way they see it is they're by G-d gonna get away with it. They haven't given up on anything, they're just biding their time.
All they gotta do is have more votes counted for them than for Gingrich (what it's lookin like now, anyway) and in their next term they'll do it by executive order, using Ms. Giffords and her husband as props.
It appears in the end you both won. Congratulations!
I thought they could have and would have by now. Good for our side.
There was some truth to it a few years ago, but Constitutional activists raised such a ruckus that Congress passed legislation to correct the situation. I guess old emails never die, they just keep circulating around the net.
I agree, if the communist traitor mole gets a second term, nothing is off of the table. Nothing.
Same goes for Romney as he has already enacted a gun ban with mag restrictions in Massachusetts.
give bambam 4 more yrs, or the kingdom for life, and yer mag ban will be small taters compared to the stuff they already have printed for submission...
might outta double down on the bet...
Don’t worry I will be willing to bet that Gabrielle Giffords will take time out of her recovery to campaign for whoever is running for the Democrat Ticket in her district. She said herself she wants to comeback and serve the people again.....2016? Will she run for McCain’s Senate seat??
A full year when the people of her district had no representation in the House.

Yes, you would almost think she was running for Prez or another higher office.
Bob Dole had many faults, was the wrong man for the nomination etc but at least he (seemed to) had the courtesy to and respect for his constituents to resign his Senate seat while he ran for Higher Office = whatever his real motive.
At least it gives the appearance that his constituents are ‘being served’ and they can always vote him back in.
Also it would be nice if the fund raising were limited to the people who were able to vote for you.
Of course, if that happens Billions of dollars wouldn’t be wasted on a 1/4 million dollar job.
It seems that with the 2 yr Congressional terms, the occupant is forced to collect money 24/7 and continously campaign for the NEXT election.
Pitiful....
