I have to hand it to NEWT. I don’t know who is doing the brilliant job of rolling out Newt’s campaign, so I am going to give him the credit and it is an astounding job!!! He is OWNING all the microphones, he’s where he needs to be when he needs to be there and prior to going into Florida, after the stunning upset win in South Carolina. In every appearance he continues to present his impeccable performance and with impeccable timing!

Romney has an army of highly paid suits handling him, and NEWT outpaces them all appearing not to have even broken a sweat!!!!

Agree. And he's had Marco Rubio's former campaign manager, Jose Mallea, running his Florida campaign since about mid-December. I think we can be fairly certain that guy knows how to win in Florida.

True about Newt being where he needs to be BUT he missed the VA ballot. Any others? This could be a costly mistake.

Newt Gingrich better know and understand how much hope and faith people are now and will be investing in him during this historic election and afterward should he win.

If he lets us down, he'll be the most hated human in the US. The left already hates him. The establishment GOP and their rinos hate him. The rest us are betting it all on Newt.

This primary and the November election will be brutal. If he wins but fails to live up to the promise he's showing now, he's in for a very, very rough ride.

If anyone can pull off the kind of reform needed, I believe it's Newt. He's smart, well educated, very sharp and quick witted and has the attitude, experience and success dealing with all that will align against him.

Plus, my guess is he knows where the bodies are buried and all his secrets are out in the open.

Yep, I like our chances with Newt.

How are delegates awarded in Florida, or do you know?

Iowa was won by Santorum but no delagates are awarded from the cauci, period;

Romney won a majority of delegates in New Hampshire, which has a total of 12 delegates distributed proportionately;

South Carolina, which Newt Gingrich won, has a total of 25 delegates with winner take all.

So the delegates awarded should be:

Santorum = 0
Romney = 7 (NH)
Paul = 3 (NH)
Gingrich = 25 (SC)

Note: candidates no longer in the race received the 2 remaining NH delegates for a total of 12.

Hopefully, Newt carries Florida.

I think it can be said truthfully that this will be a long primary, and not just for the Republicans.

Obama is having challenges to getting on the ballot in Georgia.

Hey, lonevoice! You know, Rubio is another one that has that comfortable-in-my-own-skin demeanor, like Newt. Do you just suppose that Jose is behind some of that? Very interesting. That somehow Mallea keeps ‘em cool, where they are never seen as having to be be “reaching”. In both cases, Mallea is a nice fit for these two self assured men, and a very nice “GET” for Newt, in terms of Florida for sure.

One of Newt's remarks regarding healthcare fraud reminds me of this offer from IBM:

"Obama Turns Down IBM Offer to Eliminate Fraud and Waste…for Free"

“....BUT he missed the VA ballot. Any others? This could be a costly mistake.” <<<

It IS going to hurt. I don’t know how it can be overcome but by taking Florida and Texas and Pennsylvania and Missourri. Virginia voters must be apocalyptic at their state rules, which endanger the Republic in denying the vote for ligitimate and national contenders, who were found inept at picking up on the Virginia trip wires set for rookies, and for the rookies failure to overcome them.

Rick Perry will be in smoking form dashing to try to deliver TEXAS, that’s for sure!

Hi, Rita! It’s fascinating, I think.

Mallea was also part of Jeb Bush’s gubernatorial campaign staff. Needless to say, Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush are both very well-liked in Florida. By contrast, Mittens snapped up the Florida campaign staffers from Charlie Crist’s failed senatorial campaign, and I am not kidding. LOL!!

Googling around, I also learned that Rubio had an autographed picture of Newt on his desk in the Florida legislature, which he took with him when he went to Washington. I read that Newt also somehow helped Rubio in getting his book publishing deal for his “100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future.”

It says a lot that Jose Mallea was tapped as campaign manager for both Newt and Rubio. After Rubio’s victory, I’d bet Mallea was a hot commodity with all the presidential hopefuls trying to get him, and his ties to both Marco’s and Jeb’s campaign machines can only help.

Newt is definitely playing hard for the win in Florida. I think he’ll get it, too.

I saw the Florida AG, a woman, on Fox midday pushing Romney and saying how Florida was going to support him and erase last night’s Gingrich victory. She may have spoken about Newt’s “character” issues, but I can’t be certain about that.

If the district court decision upholding Gingrich’s exclusion from the VA ballot is not reversed on appeal, Ron Paul will win that state as a protest vote against Romney, partially mitigating the Gingrich campaign’s organizational mistake.

So it might be wise to buy this contract:

I just get worried about Florida because the 2008 results make it look like a far more RINO state than South Carolina and Romney did far better there in 2008 than he did in South Carolina.

Last time McCain went slightly up from SC to FL, Huckabee went WAY down from 29% to 13%, and Romney went WAY up from 15% to 31%. The only thing that could explain Romney’s rise last time was Thompson dropping out, and it sounds like there was a movement at that time to push all conservative votes to Romney (how times have changed, LOL). But I’m not sure why Huckabee dropped so much in FL. Meanwhile, Romney did far better in SC this year than he did in 2008, from 15% to 28%, but Romney had that 31% in FL last time.

SOUTH CAROLINA 2008:
John McCain 147,733 33.15%
Mike Huckabee 132,990 29.84%
Fred Thompson 69,681 15.63%
Mitt Romney 68,177 15.3%
Ron Paul 16,155 3.62%
Rudy Giuliani 9,575 2.15%

FLORIDA 2008:
John McCain 701,761 36%
Mitt Romney 604,932 31.03%
Rudy Giuliani 286,089 14.68%
Mike Huckabee 262,681 13.47%
Ron Paul 62,887 3.23%
Fred Thompson* 22,668 1.16%

SOUTH CAROLINA 2012:
Newt Gingrich 243,153 40.4%
Mitt Romney 167,279 27.8%
Rick Santorum 102,055 17.0%
Ron Paul 77,993 13.0%
Herman Cain 6,324 1.1%
