Wilfork? He may be the biggest guy Ive ever seen. But I never buyed into the “Patriots defense sucks” line. They based the ranking on yds, and when your team scores a lot and doesnt run ball control, the other team will be on offense a lot. And they will be passing to catch up.

Btw, I dont know if your watching the other game, but what in the world is going on in SF’s TE?

Ha ha a-hole. Belichick got the Haliburton Hurricane machine out to push that field go wide.

There was an interesting little back-and-forth on a NYC sports talk radio show last week about placekickers. The caller was trying to make a point about how important it is to have a kicker who is reliable in these types of last-minute game-changing situations, and the host had an interesting perspective. He said he was never comfortable with any kicker in a situation like this, and that you can throw a kicker's track record and talent right out the window when the game is on the line. At best you are looking at a crapshoot if a playoff game ever comes down to a clutch kick like this.

He cited the example of Minnesota's Gary Anderson in the 1998-99 NFC championship game against Atlanta. That seasson, Anderson had been the first kicker in NFL history to go an entire season without ever missing a kick: 67 of 67 on extra points and 39 of 39 on field goals.

And yet when it came down to a key point late in the game, he missed a 38-yard field goal that would have put Minnesota ahead by 10 points late in the 4th quarter. Atlanta tied the game and then won it in overtime.

stunning. Hate that the Pats went on the missed kick and a drop to win....

Me too... and I'm a Pats fan. I'll take it, but I'm not proud of it either.

It may have been BU...who Knows!...the things you remember at that age...I moved from Mass. in ‘63, the day my folks signed the papers to sell the house in S. Weymouth to move to DE was Nov. 22,1963....we were let out of school early by crying teachers and didn’t find out why they were crying until we got home.

Yup’ you won...congrats....DAMN....I thought with a low score and a close game, the Ravens would prevail...double damn...BTW, the first pro football game I saw in person was the Boston Patriots VS the NY Titans in ‘61 ....I think at Boston College field in Chestnut Hill...I know they played some at Fenway, but I think we drove aways from S. Weymout to get there....memories of a 6 year old.

You probably went to Boston University's Nickerson Field. Its still there, and you can see it from Google maps.
