In the third period against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night, Detroit Red Wings star Henrik Zetterberg put a glove on the back of defenseman Nikita Nikitin as they raced for the puck. That was enough to knock Nikitin off-balance, as he crashed awkwardly into the end boards and writhed in pain on the ice.
As a result, Zetterberg was given a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct. According to NHL.com's stats history, it's the first major and ejection for Zetterberg in his 634 career games:

After yesterday's win (16th straight at home), Wings are 1st in NHL. Yet, only 2 Red Wings on All Star roster. What's up with that?
There is no “I” in “Team”?
Wow. That’s a Major requiring an ejection.
Hockey soon to be the next girly man’s sport.
It did not look intentional. Blue Jacket player appeared to lose an edge going in, while Detroit players hand was on his back, no push the way I saw it. I’d say no penalty.
As far as I can see, Nikitin threw himself off balance while trying to control the puck with his left skate, but I had the benefit of a slow motion replay.
Still remember Claude Lemieux boarding Chris Draper
“There is no I in Team?”

I coach 16 year olds. That’s what I get from them.
Ain't no 'we' neither.
This being the Red Wings I am suprised a penalty was called at all. Detroit guy once told me the Refs were never allowed to take their whistles out on the ice at The Joe.
Hockey is big on the assist.
Watch recaps of the series the Pens won against the Wings. Every time the Wings went ahead they amazingly got a two man penalty, allowing the Pittsburgh Crosbies to steal a cup.
Because the All Star Game is in Canada, there's a massive voting overload from Canadians.
You could vote a max of 30 times for the players you wanted.
>There is no I in Team<
Right you are. Not in the Red Wings, anyhow.
Horse pooh call by the ref.
Should be reviewed by the main office and his penalty recinded.
