Gingrich won women’s vote in SC primary, exit polls show

The bombshell accusation from former Speaker Newt Gingrich’s second wife that he had requested an “open marriage” did not cost him the female vote in South Carolina, polls show.

According to exit polling conducted by Edison Research, Gingrich won a plurality of the female vote with 36 percent of South Carolina’s voting Republican women checking his box Saturday.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won 30 percent, Texas Rep. Ron Paul won 13 percent, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum garnered 19 percent and Texas Gov. Rick Perry (who dropped out of the race this week) was still the choice of 1 percent of women.

I think that the Media has stirred this whole primary race up. We the “little: people have been saying all along that we don’t want them to pick our candidate. After watching the hatchet jobs on all our candidates, we are down to 4. Watching the Liberal Media start on Romney with his Tax Return and Bain Capitol meme, Then Newt on his issues with the culmination of trotting his ex-wife out on ABC, people just said “ENOUGH”. When Newt fought like a bulldog at that debate, I for one cheered! We have been told that Romney was our candidate since 2008. I am sick of it to the point of hurling. We don’t have many choices left now. Newt or Rick. I don’t see Rick capable of punching hard enough when the media and libs turn attention to him. What’s left...Newt. I personally never thought 3 mos. ago that I would support him, but these are the circumstances that present themselves at this time.

She was diagnosed with MS 2 years after the divorce IIRC.

Correct me if I am wrong. I read that his ex had severe MS. Is it possible that Newt asked for an open marriage because they could not consummate the marriage sexually? Just askin.

Marianne does not have MS, but has a condition that could turn into MS. Marianne allegedly asked Newt for a divorce as early as 1987, and they were not living together when Newt began dating Callista.

As a divorced woman, married to a man who makes Newt look like a saint, I have no inclination, nor have I ever tried to hurt his career. My divorce 27 years ago, devastated me at the time, but I moved on. My regrets have nothing to do with my ex's success, and what woman wants to relive the worst of her life, by re-creating it with a vengeance? Marianne's crusade to harm her ex is not typical of most women, who would rather get on with their lives. I have three wonderful grown sons, who I still feel obligated to protect. They know the truth, or at least their version, and that's enough for me. The world doesn't need to know, and that is why many women chose Newt.

Pissed-off Americans (male and female) are rallying around Newt, who is the ONLY candidate to actually speak what's on their minds (biased media, economy in the toilet, tax cuts, balanced budget, elimination of beauracratic "gift" positions, ending the "Plantation Mentality", etc.)

I don't like the softness on illegals that have squatted here (law breakers) for many years, nor the excuse that "families will be separated"). The illegals made their choice in breaking the law, and they MUST face the consequences, without pandering to bleeding hearts and their votes).

As far as his philandering past, where most people erroneously think women won't vote for Newt; they did in SC, and they will elsewhere, because the other IMPORTANT issues are over-whelmingly more important to them.

Oh, well, that would make it okay, then? So much for “in sickness and in health”, huh?

The future is a hell of a lot scarrier than anything in his past.

Same here, which is why I’ll settle for Gingrich.

At least, he does not hate America.

I’m not a fan of Newt but has anyone else but me noticed that NO ONE is talking about the interview with the ex-wife today?

Believe it or not the whole interview was pretty even-handed and Marianne came out of it looking like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.

I actually started thinking that she was the big reason things came off track for us in the late '90s.

“Oh, well, that would make it okay, then?”

Not being judgmental just asking. BTW my wife just passed away from diabetes and stage 3 renal failure attributed to the diabetes. I was her care giver for the last 6, very stressful years, of a 43 year marriage. I believe in till death do us part.

And there lay the perverted and uncaring hypocrisy of the media and liberals:

women are ultimately to respect a man who gets the men and women’s respects, ie. keeps the bad ones away, even if married to a bad spouse; whereas homosexuals and jealous feminist whores “only” want a “Plantation Politicaly Correct” Billy Bob and Obama style homosexual open marriage, where the woman is to be a good woman if she is a filthy idiot like them following the party line of idiocy (ie. where the lifestyle of sex and idea of homosexuality is a drug and is to prime as a sick leader over any other wholesome business around.)

America needs to know its investment brand and manners. That the media tested Gingrich on filth is a definite proof that they only have filth and no other acceptance of any other situation in mind in their daily business.

“It amazes me how much the homosexuals and feminists don’t want a Catholic in office.”

With Catholics the like of John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and Rudy Guliani out there I don’t think it matters to anyone as much as it matters to you.

IOW, thanks to about half of those calling themselves Catholic being flaming leftists, no one really fears a Catholic politician and why would they?

It doesn’t matter to me what religion the candidate embraces with the exception of Islam. I was only noting how much the media seems to be wanting Romney as the candidate. They believe that fundamentalist Christians will not vote for him and so it guarantees an Obama re-election.

They fear both Gingrich and Santorum because a devout Catholic candidate will put the brakes on some of their more radical policies, abortion and homosexual marriage being just two of them. It is like Rush says, they will tell you what they fear.

Dear Duckman:

I believe in death us do part, as well. Check my posting history.

That being said, I saw a speech Newt gave early last year. He was quite candid about the pain he had caused others and the mess he made in his private life. He went through a recovery program to explore why, even when he literally had it all, he felt such a hole inside that grew bigger with every success. He did a lot of soul searching and healing through Christ; I believe those around him who say he is a changed man. I also believe that the closer he moved to God, the more he saw how far off track the country was going.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he has been born-again, although Catholics don't usually refer to it as such.

As for Marianne, she had just ended a 6-year long affair with a married father of 3 kids when she met Newt. Obviously, her moral compass was quite off, as well. Sorry, I can't muster a lot of sympathy for her. When I was single, I wouldn't even look at a man if I knew he was dating, let alone married.

“I actually started thinking that she was the big reason things came off track for us in the late ‘90s.”

Interesting. I did not watch the interview since I already believed it to be nothing but another staged attack bought and paid for by the DNC and the lefties of the media.

Someone has said that Newt will come out swinging even harder than he has already. Part of me hopes he does but another part of me hopes he is careful not to push the moderates too far away if they can be pushed away. I am feeling that having the country rid of obastard is the most important thing to most voters with half a brain right now.

Go Gingrich!

I have confidence in him to do just that to win the election. I just hope he keeps that instinct to fight the media and the progressives after the election.

I still have nauseating memories of his being a little to kind to Bill Clinton.

The left is comprised of bullies who will keep poking us because so many politicians on the right take it and hope the bullies will like them or, at least, let them sit at the lunch table with them. If Gingrich kicks them in the shins after the election, and not just in an effort to win during the election, I will be much relieved.

Woman love alpha males, hello Newt Gingrich.

This is the natural state of women. It is instinctual. Metrosexual, shaved chest, man bag carrying wusses do not resonate with a majority of women and definitely not with real men.

Unfortunately, too many young men today are being socialized by liberal educators to compensate for their God given maleness. My daughter's boy friend was watching the SC returns with my family last night and the subject of alpha men came up. I pulled up You Tube videos of Obama bowling, throwing out a first pitch at a Nationals game and golfing. My wife and two daughters were laughing their butts off. My daughter's boyfriend muttered shyly, "He's a fag." The apologized. (liberal socialization) I looked at him directly in the eyes and said, "The only reason you need to apologize is that you didn't say, 'he's an F'ing fag.'"
