Was Newt’s response to the question about his wife his, “I’m paying for this microphone,” moment?

I guess it hasn’t dawned on you that debates have absolutely dominated this election cycle. And they will continue to do so.

Until the general election, that is. When there may be no debates, at all.

If Newt is the GOP nominee, it obviously behooves the Zero to avoid any and all debates. Clearly, he would be able to do so without any adverse criticism from the MSM.

There is no law requiring debates. Nor is there any set format -- allowing one side to negotiate...and negotiate...and negotiate...until the point is moot.

Cain would have been a good counter but they mistakenly “shot their load” in getting him out of the race too early!

That's because the take-down on Cain was not the work of RINO power brokers. That Cain attacks had obamao's fingerprints all over them.

The man has written or co-written 23 books, selling millions of books.

During his peak years, he gave about 80 speeches a year, earning $60,000 to $100,000 per speech.

He has also started many companies that earned millions in revenue.

Unlike the other super-rich politicians, this man actually earned his wealth.

Did he use whatever advantage he could, sure. But so did you to get to where you are today. He was just fortunate to have more advantages in life in this area than you or I.

I suspect the late reports(Just in time for the SC primary...heh heh!) that Santorum has actually won Iowa was the work of the power brokers who are dismayed that Romney is losing steam.

Agree with you on this...

Newt Gingrich left Congress in the mid-1990s and later built three consulting businesses. He earned his fortune.

One of the great advantages Newt Gingrich has is that he was, at one time, at the center of political power in Washington and then left to work in the private sector. He saw the corruption first-hand, and after he left and worked as a consultant this gave him plenty of time to really see what government looks like from the outside. Thus he has said Washington, D.C., is broken and he will change the way Washington works.

Per Jim Robinson:

Newt’s rebirth agenda: Repeal Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley! Fire the czars! Fire Bernanke! Neuter the Fed and the EPA! Shutter Health, Education, Housing, Labor, Energy, etc. (can’t remember them all). Return the 185 some odd socialized federal welfare programs to the states and the people where they can either control them locally or shut them down. Privatize social security and Medicare and or return them to the states and the people. Go to a personal flat tax of 15% after deductions. Reduce the corporate tax rate to 12.5%. Eliminate the capital gains tax. Eventually eliminate the payroll tax after social security is privatized and phased out.

By the way, there do exist some folks who go to the nation’s capital and go home broke.

” What I’ve found shocking is the enormous number of so-called Christians here at Free Republic who are nothing of the sort.”

Without being too blatant, let me remind you that a great number of Romney’ s “christian” supporters, come from a background of belief that you are saved by your “righteousness”. Forgiveness in their belief is overshadowed by works. In their eyes Newt is outside the fold, while Mitt is a good, squeaky clean, tithe paying, temple recommended “righteous” man.

I’ve never understood the purpose of buying ...trinkets ...souvenirs, I don’t know what to call such things.

Is there a reason for doing that?

To show I’ve been there.

I’ve never been to Washington and it’s probably not really worth going, now that it’s all locked down.

SC momentum appears to be with the Speaker but I'll wait for the votes to be counted. I'm hoping his "win" is decisive and none of this "split decision" Iowa stuff.

The risk of these late polls is those who might like Santorum because of the ex-wives, but were going to vote Newt to stop Romney, might reconsider the need and actually undermine the movement against Mitt.

New Mexico's Susan Martinez Among Possible GOP Vice Presidential Candidates Gingrich/Martinez 2012

Not going to happen:

Gov. Susana Martinez’s name came up high on Mitt Romney’s list of potential running mates during a national interview Friday, and the New Mexico governor seemed to say no thanks once again. Martinez’s office issued a familiar-sounding response.

“As the governor has repeatedly said, she is committed to focusing on turning New Mexico’s economy around and providing for a better education for our kids,” said governor’s spokesman Scott Darnell.

“She has no interest in serving as vice president and will not be a candidate for the position,” Darnell said.

It’s more like America will rejoice when Newt beats Obozo.

GO NEWT!
