It's 0930 EST and there's nothing in the sidebar that looks like a live thread for the SC primary . . .
JRs watching you.
I think as the day progresses, more will turn out. The weather here is particularly nasty though...rain with occasional thunderstorms.
Thanks for the comment. In past years, I blew off much of the rhetoric, but this election is way too critical to let all the bad press and misinformation about our candidate go by without saying something, or presenting actual facts that refute the rumors and lies.
It’s only the right thing to do. I have a thick hide and am a product of an environment where, when people shoot at you, you shoot back. It’s just what we learn when we are called to serve.
Newt reminds me of what this country has been missing for so long.
I disagree with that. This is 2012, where the divorce rate is over 50%, and sexual morality is less important(unfortunately)than it used to be. Like in many cases, I think that a small minority of women is protesting loudly. I just don't think this is a game changer. We have bigger fish to fry.
Marrying your mistress is not the same thing as repentence. Repentence would be returning to the wife that you wronged and saying you were wrong to cheat on her.
But then what do I know? I’m just a Catholic.
BTW- the Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth. He’s considered to be a moral paragon at least for Catholics.
Thanks for the threat.
Mano - man
But we are voting for The President of the United States. Aren’t we?
It pains me that your expectations are so low. This country would never have been born with the likes of Gingrich and the rest of the RINO-led GOP clowns.
Exactly what have I said that is not true? Please be specific—if you can.
Oh, and you never answered the question: Why was Clintoon’s dalliance with Lewinsky bad and Newt’s serial adultery not bad? Why should I trust Newty when he swears to “support and uphold the Constitution” when he cannot even be trusted to honor his marriage vows? Does an honorable person dump a terminally ill spouse (you do remember the part “in sickness and health” don’t you?). Newty lied and deceived wife No. 2 for at least 18 months. He is a person who’s very comfortable with flasehood and deception. Why whould a rational person believe anything the man says?
Well $20 million in negative adds to 50,000 voters will hurt your campaign. Let’s see what happens tonight in a fair fight.
So......South Carolina, how is the turnout proceeding??? Of course, I do not trust a word from the Obamabot media!!! Kindly report when you can. Thanks!!!
I’ve seen Santorum’s record... and it’s not conservative.
Heck, his support of SOPA is reason enough to drive his completely out of politics. (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2835697/posts)
Let alone his support for a bigger government welfare state:
“What was my vision? I came to the uncomfortable realization that conservatives were not only reluctant to spend government dollars on the poor, they hadnt even thought much about what might work better. I often describe my conservative colleagues during this time as simply cheap liberals. My own economically modest personal background and my faith had taught me to care for those who are less fortunate, but I too had not yet given much thought to the proper role of government in this mission.”
and...
“I suspect some will dismiss my ideas as just an extended version of compassionate conservatism. Some will reject what I have said as a kind of Big Government Conservatism. Some will say that what Ive tried to argue isnt conservatism at all. But I believe what Ive been presenting is the genuine conservatism our Founders envisioned. One that fosters the opportunity for all Americans to live as we are called to live, in selfless families that contribute to the general welfare, the common good.”
Ronald Reagan said, The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom.
Rick Santorum said, This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I dont think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldnt get involved in the bedroom, we shouldnt get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals cant go it alone.
I agree that the establishment republicans should lose to a conservative.
My problem, for what it is worth, is that none of the candidates make me happy, but the all have attributes that are acceptable to me.
I once again feel I am forced to pick from a group based on the attitude that one is less distasteful than the other.
I long for the days when a true conservative runs, who has been consistently conservative all of his or her life, who has a moral compass that shows that the live lived is what they preach, and who has a good heart and brains.
Out of 300 million people in this nation, is this the best slate of candidates we can muster to lead the bureaucratic behemoth that is supposed to protect us and guard our freedoms?
This is the best we can find to fight the spread of Islamic Jihadism? This is the best slate of candidates to rectify the financial terrorism that has been unleashed on us?
This is the group that will reverse the trend of more regulation, of more micromanagement of our behavior and actions? This is who will eliminate governments efforts to halt the free exercise of religion? of our right to defend ourselves? of our right to association, and travel? of our right to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures?
I’m sorry, but these are good people, but not what we need now.
This election in the primaries is in fact the election of the president, for the winner here is likely to defeat the socialist in chief. I am sad that our system will not allow people of a higher leadership ability, who set a better example, who have a greater spirit of sacrifice, to run for office and lead us out of this wilderness.
I pray that whoever is elected, will be touched in the heart in the right way, to leave me alone except to protect me from foreign threats, fraud, and crime. The rest is up to me.
The machine of party, of corruption, of crony capitalism, must be destroyed. This cannot happen if the people do not object.
I object.
LOL! You had me going there for a split second, wasn't quite sure what exact figure you wanted .....!
Sorry, I do not understand your query.

I couldn't wait to vote either (had to work a while before I could this morning). Look forward to the update!
Iowa was plenty fair. Your man just got plain beat. It happens to the best of us.
Like I said, it doesn’t make your candidate smaller to acknowledge the accomplishments of others.
LOL! Careful, don’t get that one started again.
To tell the truth, I am as concerned with Newt's flirtations with the left regarding global warming, etc. than I am with his immoral past, as long as he has repented (which he claims he has, and others who know him also support). I hope both his moral and politcal wobbliness are behind him.
What I have rejected, and you consider 'nonsense,' is the idea that looking for morality in a candidate is stupid......looking for one to lead us who submits to God's leadership. That goal has been belittled repeatedly by anti-Santorum folks.
I assume you don't really believe that, and if you don't, then we are in agreement, and you are as nonsensical as I am.
