“I think that a Rubio or Allen West might be a better choice (for Newt) for VP.”

Allen West would be GREAT! Rubio is ineligible since he is not a Natural Born Citizen.

Amendment 12
“........But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

U.S. Constitution: Article II, Section 1, Clause 5.

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

Good guys or bad guys alike, we MUST stand up for the Constitution. Don't like it? AMEND IT. Until then it is the supreme law of the land.

There are multiple, conflicting interpretations on this subject. Here is a “con” opinion- http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/40510
hrer is a “pro” opinion- http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/07/the_good_news_rubios_eligible.html
I am not expert enough to interpret what is “correct”, although just concerning these two sources I must give more weight to the Heritage Foundation.

I was going to ask you in my prior reply- what do you think of Mitt Romney’s eligibility? Isn’t it dubious because of his Mexican/dual citizenship ancestry?
