I've also gone to the FOX News site and posted this rebuttal to some of the commenters attacking you for “zotting” people: “I've been a Freeper for years, and I respectfully disagree. First, Jim Robinson has the right to do what he wants with his own private property; as conservatives, we should respect that. Second, by ‘zotting’ supporters of moderate Republicans and RINOs who keep advocating their views despite repeated warnings, Robinson has had the guts to do what the national Republican leadership wouldn't and perhaps couldn't do until the 2008 elections defeated many RINOs and the 2010 elections put many hard-right conservatives in office. Far from being a ‘90s thing,’ if anything, Robinson and Free Republic anticipated the current Tea Party movement. Free Republic is not perfect, but I'd rather support the light shed by a firebrand conservative who understands the internet than curse the darkness.”
I do not plan to vote for Gingrich; in fact, I can't because he didn't make the ballot in my state. However, I'm encouraged by Newt Gingrich's repeated references to Lincoln's policy of appointing all of his political opponents to his cabinet. I think Gingrich, unlike some in the secular wings of the conservative movement, really does “get it” about the importance of social conservatives in the Republican Party.
If Gingrich gets elected president, I believe we can expect to see some important socially conservative governors and ex-governors — people I wish were running for president this year, but aren't — in a Gingrich cabinet.
I think Newt Gingrich's model of governance, based on his years as a marginalized “back-bencher” in the House of Representatives, is Margaret Thatcher and the British House of Commons. I'm not convinced that model will work in the United States, but I do believe Gingrich is serious about including fellow conservatives in a consensus conservative governing coalition. That's not a model we're used to in American governance which focuses on a strong executive, not a legislative model of leadership, but what we've got now with President Obama sure isn't working and if my choice is between Obama and Gingrich, the choice is obvious.

Is that SANDY down there on the ground??
