I guess I’ll have to do your research for you, because you only look for half-truths to help your cause (whatever your cause is).

First of all, ear marks are constitutional; Secondly, like all people, including Newt, Santorum is not perfect, but take a look at this:

SANTORUM

“He was a lead Senate author and floor manager of the 1996 welfare reform act, ..”

from http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/282738/why-not-santorum-quin-hillyer?page=0

“While in the House, he played a key role in uncovering the House bank scandal. In the Senate, he crusaded for a balanced budget amendment..”

excerpt http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/the-case-for-rick-santorum/2011/04/14/AFhEhpdD_blog.html

” has proposed five trillion dolars in spending cuts over five years, a balanced budget in five years,” Santorum said over the phone before going on to point to his emphasis on entitlement reform, rebuking those who have questioned his fiscal conservatism.”

I'm capable of doing my own research, thank you.

My research tells me that a lot of things are "constitutional". but I will not support a candidate who engages in them, and then claims to be a conservative.

According to the SCOTUS, abortion is "constitutional". Nice.
