Hey, I grew up watching Maxwell Smart, and Mr. Sweatervest is (tonight) no Maxwell Smart!
Here's some background info in what Don Adams was made of, from his Wikipedia entry:
(Don Adams) enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1941 together with his twin-brother cousins, William and Robert Karvelas.[1] The three were assigned to the Third Marines in Samoa until Adams was sent as a replacement to the Battle of Guadalcanal, where he was the only survivor of his platoon.[5] His survival, despite his company's near 90% fatality rate, was due to his contracting blackwater fever early in the campaign. He was evacuated and spent over a year in a Navy hospital in Wellington, New Zealand.[1][6] After his recovery, he served as a Marine drill instructor in the United States.[7][8]
That being said, I hope Senator Santorum can rehabilitate his public personality, and quickly, as we need all the popular and active public pro-life politicians we can get our hands on....
Max was the hero of the story. His ability to win was often questioned, but never his loyalty nor his good intentions. He took unusual routes, but he always ended up winning. Rick can live with that comparison, especially when Obama is running for KAOS.
Max was voted best dressed spy. He did wear vests a lot, although off the top of my head I don't recall whether he wore any of the sweater variety. With 138 original episodes plus various sequels it would take awhile to check that thoroughly.
