The Republicans, just like the Democrats, have been calling for healthcare AND health insurance reform for decades. Discussions concerning mandatory health care have sputtered off and on due to the fact government already supplies healthcare to indigents and the poor.

Restructuring the way private health insurance is configured across state lines and entire regions would mean greater affordablility of health care to a greater number of people.

Unfortunately, the communists in BHO2’s administration are destroying the greatest healthcare delivery system presently in the world by strangling private health insurance companies.

Newt Gingrich would reverse that anti-business move. That doesn’t mean EVERYTHING in Obamacare was rotten: just most of it.

Yes, and with few exceptions (on the GOP side) they're both for more government "solutions" for everything including health care.

We have the best health care in the world. Our health care is the envy of the world. People from other countries who have socialized health care come here when they can for emergency or top-notch health care.

People have short memories, neglect looking at historical fact, and fail to see the current results (repeated failures, NO successes, in other countries) of their desires for government "solutions" for everything. Ron Paul is right about this one: in the sixties, health care WAS affordable. What happened? HUGE malpractice insurance lawsuits were allowed by our Leftist Harvard law-mill judges and health insurance, and thus health care, skyrocketed.

Why was our health care so good? Because it like most other things was based on free market enterprise and competition, so the consumer enjoyed maximum benefit for minimum cost. There was no problem. Government (courts) made health care a problem. The history of the 20th century is a saga of how government creates problems in the name of solving them.

Even with these absurd malpractice and insurance costs, government isn't the solution, its the problem. The answer almost always is let freedom ring and the free market work as it has beautifully in the country for over 200 years. This was as true now as it was in 1961 when Reagan spoke of this:
