And then there were three and a half minds left campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul.
Hosted by CNN's John King at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Me a Paulbot. It’s kinda funny to imagine, ain’t it? :)
Thanks for havin’ my back, dear one.
The Republicans, just like the Democrats, have been calling for healthcare AND health insurance reform for decades. Discussions concerning mandatory health care have sputtered off and on due to the fact government already supplies healthcare to indigents and the poor.
Restructuring the way private health insurance is configured across state lines and entire regions would mean greater affordablility of health care to a greater number of people.
Unfortunately, the communists in BHO2’s administration are destroying the greatest healthcare delivery system presently in the world by strangling private health insurance companies.
Newt Gingrich would reverse that anti-business move. That doesn’t mean EVERYTHING in Obamacare was rotten: just most of it.
Thank you. Apparently, without realizing it, I copied all of the Paulbot talking points. I guess I’m psychic. For my next trick, I shall predict all the reasons why FReepers dislike Romney and do so without ever leaving my keyboard.
I am,
The Amazing BuckeyeTexan!
(I’m just full of myself this mornin’.)
LOL!
Yes, and with few exceptions (on the GOP side) they're both for more government "solutions" for everything including health care.
We have the best health care in the world. Our health care is the envy of the world. People from other countries who have socialized health care come here when they can for emergency or top-notch health care.
People have short memories, neglect looking at historical fact, and fail to see the current results (repeated failures, NO successes, in other countries) of their desires for government "solutions" for everything. Ron Paul is right about this one: in the sixties, health care WAS affordable. What happened? HUGE malpractice insurance lawsuits were allowed by our Leftist Harvard law-mill judges and health insurance, and thus health care, skyrocketed.
Why was our health care so good? Because it like most other things was based on free market enterprise and competition, so the consumer enjoyed maximum benefit for minimum cost. There was no problem. Government (courts) made health care a problem. The history of the 20th century is a saga of how government creates problems in the name of solving them.
Even with these absurd malpractice and insurance costs, government isn't the solution, its the problem. The answer almost always is let freedom ring and the free market work as it has beautifully in the country for over 200 years. This was as true now as it was in 1961 when Reagan spoke of this:

You're absolutely correct. Perry's a hero, and freedom-loving America owes him its gratitude.
I was not a big fan of Perry for Prez, but I’m really excited about his new project of fighting for states’ rights. That’s where the real battle is. If anyone has a direct line to the guy, you might suggest he broach the idea of repealing the 17th Amendment. That’s the one that really did in the 10th.
He gave Newt no credit for either. He’s been running around saying Newt had little to do with the GOP getting a majority and that they would have won it with or without him. Anyone who watched what was going on in the 80’s and 90’s knows that’s an abject lie. And is Newtbdid nothing else. His life, that alone would be a prodigious achievement dwarfing anything Santorum ever achieved......which is why he belittles it and lies about it.
Lloyd rent.

My opinion is that anyone who comes in 4th at this point should drop out. If that’s Santorum, it will be clear that he shot his wad in Iowa. I think he’ll finish 3rd, but if he should come in 4th he needs to take a hint.
He won’t be able to spend a year and visit every county In the remaining states, after all.

Max was the hero of the story. His ability to win was often questioned, but never his loyalty nor his good intentions. He took unusual routes, but he always ended up winning. Rick can live with that comparison, especially when Obama is running for KAOS.
Max was voted best dressed spy. He did wear vests a lot, although off the top of my head I don't recall whether he wore any of the sweater variety. With 138 original episodes plus various sequels it would take awhile to check that thoroughly.
I guess Rick was absent when they covered that teaching in Catholic school, then.
