I'm officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for president today. Was going to wait until after Florida, but see no reason to delay. We need Newt to win in South Carolina and Florida to stop any possible momentum building up for the establishment big government, statist, abortionist RINO!!
RomneyCare = ObamaCare = government tyranny!! Taxpayer funded abortion is as evil as evil can be!!
Newt is a pro-life Reagan Revolution conservative who led the Republican Revolution of the 90s, taking the majority away from the democrats who had held it for 40 years. And as Speaker, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the deficit, cut regulations, cut unemployment, brought the federal budget under control for four years running. And unlike Romney, actually blocked a socialist healthcare system from becoming law. And created a pro-growth, pro-free market, pro-jobs environment and extended the Reagan economy throughout the 90s!! Newt is the ideal candidate to lead the Tea Party Revolution!!
Newt plans to go to a 15% personal flat tax after deductions and a 12.5% corporate tax and eliminate the capital gains taxes altogether. He wants to privatize social security and medicare and eliminate the payroll tax.
And he wants to neuter the EPA and the Fed. Repeal ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley. Fire all of the czars, dismantle the Marxist state and fire if not jail Bernanke. And send 185 federal socialist welfare programs back to the states and the people, and return education back to local control.
Newt will directly challenge the liberal activist judiciary and end the unconstitutional power grabs of our usurping black robed rulers.
He wants to restore the constitutional balance of powers between the three branches and restore states rights and individual rights. He wants to turn government control back to the states and local people as the founders set it up.
These are the kind of dramatic reductions in government that the tea party is demanding.
And he has the knowledge, experience, know how, fire in the belly, and the balls to get it done!!
In short, I believe he's exactly what we grassroots conservative tea party rebels are looking for. I think we can use some of Newts conservative revolutionary talents right now!!
As long as the conservatives remain split, the establishment RINO Romney will waltz in just like McLame in 2008 and he will lose to Obama just like McLame. It's time to build the Gingrich Coalition!!
FR is hereby officially in full open rebellion against the elite GOP establishment and the Marxist commiecrats!!
Go, tea party!! Go, Newt!!
We are the resistance!!
Damn the torpedoes, damn the RINOs, damn the exes!! Full speed ahead!!
Free Republic is and will remain a pro-life, pro-family, limited government, strong defense, grassroots conservative site!!
RINOs need not apply!!
Happy Newt Day!! Only 366 days until President Newt evicts Obama!!
” Vote Paul in Va. Deny Romney those delegates. “ <<<
Before we do that, read Erik’s own column, at Redstate.com
“Horserace for January 19”.
Seems some of Romney delegates are actually Paul supporters angling for a brokered convention, ready to surprise ALL and throw their support for RON PAUL after the first convention ballot where they must commit to Romney. The second ballot frees delegates from their commitment. They then vote for RON PAUL.
Paul volunteers are said to have been working over the last few years at even the precinct level for delegates. They may be under anyone’s name but can and will flip. To what extent this is large numbers, or will be effective is anyone’s guess.
I think he’s about the best scrapper we’ve got, so I’ve been for him for awhile.
Next question - who would his best VP pick be?
I don’t dislike Newt, but I will only support him because I can’t support Romney.
Really, REALLY well said FastCoyote. Thank you.
“”Im in. I acknowledge Newt isnt perfect, but neither am I. What we are desperate for is not perfection, but a fighter. We are in deep deep kimchee that will take a decade to correct. The wages of failure are truly frightening.
Sorry to Santorum fans. Attaboy to Perry. Thanks to Palins.
Time to rock and roll.””
Right behind ya, Jim.
JIMROB: I am on board with this. Had some leaning toward Cain until he blew up, and have been rooting for Newt ever since. If that Jim Thompson guy will toss out an endorsement, maybe we’ll get some media coverage.
As for women’s votes: Clinton never lost his popularity with women, and he was (IMHO) much, much worse as to his indiscretions. Women are very concerned with the economic future of this country, and the tax burdens that will be placed on our children and grandchildren due to the debts and deficits. Newt will appeal to their need to know that someone will (finally) be looking out for the future.
Last week I saw a youtube where Newt stated he would outright repeal: ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley. He wants the bills for repeal on his desk right way.
That sounds bold and if he accomplishes that, it would be good for our Republic.
Thank you for being a Great American, Mr. Perry!!!
Newt is not perfect. But he is the only anti-Romney now who has a chance of stopping the Mittster and, at the same time, can defeat Zero in a general election.
GO NEWT!
I’m focused on America’s future, not 1994. What he has said and done in the last three years is enough to torpedo McNewt for me. Apparently he works for others, but I suspect not enough to beat Obama. By narrowing the choices down to Rombama and McNewt, the GOP establishment has their way and Obama will not have a conservative challenger.
Thanks for correcting my spelling ;)
Respectful question, no malice intended at all: Do you deserve God’s mercy and forgiveness when you fail miserably?
No, you don’t. Neither do I. Neither does Newt Gingrich. Yet, you and I receive it immediately with no hesitation when we seek it. So does Newt Gingrich. If God can forgive Newt Gingrich and extend grace when it is so not deserved, so can you and I.
My reply is not intended as a lecture but rather a request.
u big dummy!
rabid dog?
are u kidding?
i am no rabid dog....
i am a proud horndog...big difference
so be nice...or i ill get JR to zot you..(i can dream right)
i am gonna have fun with these
rare that i am on the safe side of the lightning around here
NEWT, WARTS AND ALL!
So, what candiate has perfect character? None.
I’m still not voting for anyone who supports a government health care plan. Gingrichcare? No thanks. I’ll be supporting Rick Santorum.
Marching orders received and donation submitted. If you haven’t already...donate whatever you can NOW!
Obama’s days are now in countdown mode...
God Bless FReepers and all life-liberty-freedom loving Americans.
Agreed. The effects of his “let me have my concubine” request will only sink in after S. Carolina and he will not get the nomination.
By keeping him afloat instead of letting the sinking begin, it only guarantees that he and Santorum continue to split the vote and
guarantee
we
get
Romney.
That’s the upshot of endorsing Newt now.
Libertarians and even some social conservatives may be willing to give Newt a pass on his mistressing, but the general public won’t.
And shouting “but, but, but, but Klintoon did it too” won’t help. Sorry. It won’t.
If FReeprs really can’t stomach Santorum, then they should face the music and recognize that their only alternative, now, is Romney.
And it’s not about “forgiveness as a Christian virtue.” I’m plenty willing to forgive Newt for his sins if he’s repentant, which he seems to be.
No, for me the “let me have my mistress, Marianne” story suggests a lack of prudence, lack of judgment, high degree of narcissism and a host of other character flaws. To decide to run for president knowing all that is a further serious flaw in judgment for someone who has his finger on the trigger.
If Newt can convince us that Marianne Gingrich just made this all up, well, then, I’ll reconsider.
Let’s think about it.
