BREAKING: Romney calls Santorum (Concedes Iowa)

Mitt Romney made a "polite" phone call Thursday to rival Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum to "concede victory" in Iowa, according to Santorum's spokesman Hogan Gidley.

But Romney's team objected, saying his campaign didn't concede.

“He just called him. They talked, and he recognized his efforts," a top campaign aide told CNN.

Santorum finished the Iowa Republican caucuses 34 votes ahead of Mitt Romney, but results from several precincts are missing and the full actual results may never be known, according to a final certified tally released Thursday by the Iowa GOP.

The new numbers show 29,839 votes for Santorum and 29,805 votes for Romney, according to the party.

No. He was performing abortions at the time she LIVED with him. She was 22 and he was 60. To make it creepier, apparently he (an obstetrician) delivered her as a baby, but he didn’t start dating her until she was in college. As far as I’m concerned, the story is mor a reflection on the doctor, rather than Karen. He later married a woman in her 30s.

I don’t understand why the Iowa Republican Party was more than willing to award the contest to the Mittster when he was ahead by eight votes, but they’re now unwilling to provide the same courtesy to Santorum when he’s ahead by 34. Can someone help me out?

Re: Iowa-who cares!

Well, for one, it shows that Romney isn’t the inevitable juggernaut the establishment want to portray him to be.

Instead of Romney sweeping the first three states, we just might have 3 DIFFERENT candidates winning 3 different states, with Ron Paul not winning any.

It was posted on FR 3, or 4, days ago. Long article. I’ll try to find it, but you could do a search. I’m a Santorum supporrter, but you’ve got to acknowledge the garbage. I really don’t think that something his wife did before she even knew him is a slam against Santorum, however.

Two or three days before the slam against his wife, somebody looked up his distant relatives in Italy and claimed they are all Communists, as if that has anything to do witih Santorum in the US today. It’s sick, the lengths they’ll go.

I think I read the story at the Daily Beast and I picked it up either on Lucianne, or Drudge. The doctor’s name was Tim Allen of Pittsburgh. He is now 92.

I agree that it is good that the myth of Romney invincibility was exposed, my comment was directed towards how irrelevant Iowa is.
