Mitt Romney made a "polite" phone call Thursday to rival Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum to "concede victory" in Iowa, according to Santorum's spokesman Hogan Gidley.
But Romney's team objected, saying his campaign didn't concede.
He just called him. They talked, and he recognized his efforts," a top campaign aide told CNN.
Santorum finished the Iowa Republican caucuses 34 votes ahead of Mitt Romney, but results from several precincts are missing and the full actual results may never be known, according to a final certified tally released Thursday by the Iowa GOP.
The new numbers show 29,839 votes for Santorum and 29,805 votes for Romney, according to the party.

Has nothing to do with article except that it’s about Santorum. My sister sent me a text saying that a pro-life group is attacking Santorum’s wife over something that happened more than three decades ago. She didn’t have details. Anyone hear this?
She dated an abortion doctor.
“My sister sent me a text saying that a pro-life group is attacking Santorums wife over something that happened more than three decades ago.”
My thought on these stories. Yawn!
Yeah, some nitwit posted it here the other night trying to stir up muck on Santorum’s family. Just do a search and you will find it. The agitator was guffawed off his own thread.
She apparently dated a doctor when she was in college and the doctor performs abortions today.
I haven’t head that any pro life groups have been upset about it.
There's a sewer story out about how she dated an abortion doctor before she met Rick.

Yes, but did he perform abortions when she was dating him then? I bet not. He was probably still in school.
So What’s the big deal?
Thanks
She was 22 years old and dated an aborton doctor. I bet there is not a person out there who doesn’t have regrets about there past. Except liberals who still lives the motto, “if it feels go, do it”.
Romney is sucking up to Santorum hoping he will help him attack Newt tonight!
It was just a stupid attempt to stir up dirt.
Symbolism over substance. As meaningful as a fart in a hurricane.
Sounds like he’s trying to form an alliance with Santorum. It will be interesting to see if Santorum attacks Mitt in tonight’s debate.
Caucus night, it was a Romney victory. Now it’s a “split decision”...
When I was a teenager I dated a woman who had baby sat for me when I was a toddler.
Just started looking into this myself. From what I have read, and, believe me, I take it with a grain of salt right now, if it is true, there is a potential for it to grow legs.
She allegedly dated and lived with an abortion doctor about 30 years her senior for approx 7 years, through her twenties, and his 50’s. The doctor is allegedly now 92. Said she had no qualms with what he did. Also claims to have delivered her when she was born.
Some potential damage there, and some issues with things Rick and she both said less than 2 years prior to his run for congressional office, but I am not reposting any of them here as they are here say in my opinion until fully vetted.
If there is anything to this, and the dems were sitting on it for usage if he was the nominee, it could have been damning if true. Seems as though they had nasty, vile stuff on every candidate, including Romney, but were keeping their powder dry until they saw Romney was the nominee, but they were pulling it out as “others” moved up to dangerous points in the polls against Romney.
I guess time will tell, as there is really no better way to get a colonoscopy than to run for political office as a conservative, especially if there are skeletons in your closet. I do happen to agree with the premise Rick Perry put forward when bringing up Romneys dirt- better we shake it out in the primaries, than get it beat out in the general, so I say, bring it all forward now and let the chips fall where they may.
