My father was a career Marine (commo chief) so I decided to join a different service and see some new scenery. BTW, the 2ID was commanded by several Marine officers during WWI (during which they had a Marine brigade aboard), the only Army division with that distinction. Google it.

I landed in Siagon when the airport was a sleepy little jungle strip and 18 months later I touched down there on the way home and it was being turned into FWD!!
