TSA apologises for strip-searching TWO 'degraded' grannies... but they still say the agency
Daily Mail ^ | 1/18/12 | Staff

Immediately following two separate strip-searches of grandmothers well into their 80s last year, the Transportation Security Administration initially said they merely followed screening procedures. But in a letter discussing the cases of both Ruth Sherman, 89, and Lenore Zimmerman, 85, the federal agency admitted that their agents deviated from standard practise. While they apologised for the treatment of these two elderly women, both Ms Sherman and Ms Zimmerman stick to their stories and said they were forced to strip in humiliating circumstances.

When you give government employees absolute power, they are more likely than not to misues it.

One thing that we know for sure, these two “grannies” were not “MUSLIM” grannies. One can be their hat and ass on that!!!

Forced or intimidated into being searched? Just say no. You may not get on your flight, but there are trains and buses. Sieg Heil!

Yeah, I cannot envision a scenario where anything happens that will reign the bureaucracy at DHS in. As far as I can tell, they regard their primary adversary as US Citizens. I wonder what kind of lists they have compiled on us.

These situations are intended to be lessons for all of us — that Big Brother has the power to control, harass, and attack any of us for no reason. And we’re paying attention to them.

For those of us who have to fly, trains and buses are not an option.

For those of you who can use trains and buses, the TSA will be there shortly.

For those who think they then will drive, well the TSA will be there also shortly with checkpoints.

Interesting and quite possibly telling that both Sherman and Zimmerman can be construed as Jewish names. Nothing is entirely random so some criteria, even if they will never admit it, is being used. If the ADL were not so permanently connected and sucking at Obama’s **** one could hope they would make noise about this. But all I hear is the sound of crickets.

I have a question for the readers here. Many of us have had knees and hips replaced and every time we get anywhere near an airport security area we are singled out and molested. Every single time. I have had my crotch grabbed every time I fly and I'm tired of it.
Are there not laws on the books that make it illegal to separate out disable people and treat them differently?
I am sick and tired of being publicly half stripped and groped every time I get on a plane. I have never been given the option of going to a more private setting. I carry a card given to me by my physician that clearly states and shows my extra metal. They don't even want to see it. I feel for these elderly folks. I know how it feels.

Apologies without repercussions mean nothing.

Was anyone fired? Demoted? Severely reprimanded?

Probably not. Ineed, they may well be promoted. Not specfically for the act of abusing Grandma, but in the normal course of things. Therefore, the apology is without merit or sincerity.

If the government at least reprimanded someone for this abuse, it would discourage others.

Opportunity lost.

Every time?

That is a damn shame, and people need to hear about it.

I suggest you start documenting it. Ask witnesses to sign a statement they saw what you said, if you cannot video it. If you can video it or have someone do so, then by all means, do.

When this attrocity was set up, Democrats and others insisted that these people be government employees. Like someone said earlier in this thread... was anybody fired? And TSA isn’t even unionized...yet.

My wife has a hip replacement and has to be groped every time we fly too. The doctors gave her a card but TSA never ever bothers to even look at it. In fact, they often don’t even talk...just recite their lines and start groping.

I have knees. I tell them and ask them to wand me and then I'll pull up my pant legs and they can check my knees and see the scares. Nope they have to grab my groin every time. It pisses me off but if I voice my feelings then they treat me like a terrorist. All of this has always been done in public with no choice of privacy offered.
Your wife, I and others like us should not have to be publicly physically molested because we have had injuries or are, in many cases, disabled.
We truly know how it feels to be discriminated against and humiliated just so we can fly.

Even without disabilities they treat us like prisoners by making us hold our hand over our head for the X-ray machine. I can’t believe that those in charge do not know the impact of this actions.
