I wonder why the 9/11 terrorists didn’t attack Des Moines, IA. After all, they’re Americans too. /s
Most of the UK terror attacks have been home grown.
Am I advocating continuing to meddle with ground troops? No.
Am I advocating nuking the feces out of any country or compound that has helped a terrorist attack one of our embassies or an attack on the USA? Yes I am.
Islamist radicals understand getting the feces smacked out of them with the leaders and the families of the leaders destroyed and wiped from the face of the earth and their bodies never found again.
Removing those who wish to wage Jihad from the gene pool until they are no more is the logical solution.
Does that sound too harsh? I wouldn’t want to be too harsh.
Dear Mr. Klien the Iraq war was a total boondoggle that cost over 5,000 American lives and over 100,000 Iraqi lives. This war was based on Iraq having WMD’s which was refuted by non other than secretary of state Colin Powell on the late Tim Russert show. Paraphrasing Powell’s comments,’the US was given false intelligence about WMD and in some cases deliberately’. Interestingly enough there was no media followup on what should have been one of the top stories of the decade. In addition and Israeli general who worked for the secret Israeli intellgence divisiion stated in an AP interview that Israel overstated its assertion on Iraqs having WMD. Also we had an inspector come back from Iraq also verifying this false assertion on WMD. Maybe Mr. Paul isn’t so crazy after all.
I have studied history. The ship incident, referred to, was taken from Jefferson's report to Congress on that very one-sided achievement. No one denies that there were a succession of incidents with the Pirates; but I suggest that you read Jefferson's comments to President Washington on Treaty questions, when he was Secretary of State. He clearly endorses the view of Vattel, that every nation must be the judge of its own affairs--basic to the Law of Nations. That is the principle that motivates much of what Dr. Paul states; even if he does not always explain it very well.
As for whether Hamilton drafted the Farewell Address, as many believe: Washington would never have submitted it, if he did not agree with it. Hamilton had served Washington closely during the War, and certainly would not have put anything in the speech that did not reflect Washington's views, if he actually drafted the language. The Address was the guidepost for American statesmen for many years.
But, again, the only real point that is relevant to this controversy, is that Washington correctly identifies the psychological factors that come into play, when factions let either their animosity against or their favoritism for any foreign nation, influence their policy decisions. Nothing in recognizing those psychological factors discussed, prevent our acting in our own interest.
By the way, long before the fall of 1796, Jefferson had gotten over his initial sympathy for the Jacobins, and had recoiled from their behavior; nor did he like Napoleon; nor was he ever actually an Egalitarian. His initial sympathy, like his friend LaFayette's was in response to the corruption of the old order in France, which truly had substituted self-indulgence for responsible leadership.

While Ron Paul has said on TV shows such as Glen Beck that he dismisses the major theories, he openly says there is a coverup of what went on yet refuses to elaborate on just what is covered up. It's hard to 'debate' someone who starts off with so many misunderstandings and faulty premises, and especially someone who is so emotional and unwilling to even fathom the idea that you are wrong about anything here.
I do, however, want to get back to you on your entire view or understanding of liberty, and how that relates to us as Christians. But I haven't had the time to put all my thoughts down in writing, to try to explain to you what I have been realizing, and to show you how extremely legalistic and misguided (even if well-intended) you are. When I have the time, I'm going to write a blog post on this topic, and I'll let you know when I do.
