Just said if she were a SCarolinian se would vote for NEWT!!!!! GO SARAH!!!!!
I have said this since her husband endorsed him. There is no way the two of them would not endorse the same candidate. It’s unthinkable. (If they didn’t, they would have kept their endorsements private, IMHO.)
In any event, I have to say, while I don’t love Newt, I do like him. I was very impressed with his debate performance last night. I have always said, I’m sick of politicians saying they created jobs, blah, blah, blah. They don’t, the only thing they can do is get out of the way. Last night, when he said that he and Reagan created jobs, and corrected himself, saying that the people created jobs, within the framework of what they set up, I was amazed. Finally some one gave credit where credit was due.
He has a fiery passion that I like. I disagree with him on a number of issues, but I think last night’s debate was a big turning point for me. Newt was on fire! Romney was Romney, Perry looked even less significant and ready to jump out (he will by Monday, folks, I’m almost willing to bet it) Santorum was as angry as ever (and off putting to go with it), and Paul looks less and less “with it” each debate. I know that he’s more intelligent and articulate than what he comes off as in a debate, but while I agree that he is a conservative in the sense that he’s the only one talking about conserving the Constitution, there’s just too much that he doesn’t seem to get on foreign policy (You can uphold the Constitution and still make oodles of bad and dangerous decisions). In fact, Paul’s starting to look more and more confused and a little batty.
I wish we had a better field, but we’ve got what we’ve got. I think Newt may be my candiate. I will never support Santorum because I don’t need his level of Big Government in my life (no one does). Newt’s far from perfect, but he has the intellect, experience, and arguably wisdom to get things done. I think he has been maturing politically over the last few years.
I don’t mind people changing their views with time, as long as it’s a maturation. It’s called growth. In fact, it’s a good thing for everyone. I just hope that Newt continues to grow and become more conservative with time, and have more inspiration and epiphanies as President.
She said that she would vote for Newt "if" she were in SC. Palin wants the process to continue. She also likes Santorum and Perry.
Well, at the risk of getting flamed.... She is BEAUTIFUL, BUT.... The hair was a little big today...IM. But hey, her bad hair day is leagues better than my best.
You’re right that she didn’t endorse Newt entirely. She wants Newt to win to keep this process going - its strategic reasons she wants this thing to keep going instead of everyone dropping out if Mitt wins SC. That’s basically what she just said.
If you add these comments tonight with last weeks comments, I sense that she has information on Mitt or somebody that will damage them but that information can’t be release just yet for some reason- she said last week that “maybe” there’s some information about a candidate that would make them look at another candidate.
Free Republic is an Anti-Romney forum. We no like Romney.
Romney supporters get banned.
Go Newt!!! Go Sarah!!! Go South Carolina, full court press for Newt!!!
LOL! What a cute little girl! and a smart one.
So, if she were from Texas, she’d vote for Perry? I haven’t even watched the clip, but can state unequivocally, that it makes no sense to interpret that she would vote for someone else if from another state. Ergo, she just endorsed Newt.
If Rush Limbaugh really wants the conservative side of the GOP to come out and vote, he would be wise to endorse Newt Gingrich this week on his radio show. Can you imagine the bump Newt would get? Please RUSH, if you care at all about this country, set aside your long time policy of not endorsing a candidate during the primary. I heard the excitement in Rush’s voice talking today about what Newt said to Juan WIlliams last night...don’t fool me - I never thought I’d say this but CLearChannel was bought by a BAIN company and somehow they must be twisting Rush and all these other radio show guys to stay focusd on Romney as the main candidate! I’m sick over this whole business and the only candidte who rouses my loyalties for hoping in America is Newt Gingrich!@
You just watch what happens over the next few days. Gingrich’s fighting spirit comes out, and now this from Governor Palin!
She also endorsed John McCain when he was up for re-election to the Senate.
Troll, Zot!!!!
Thanks, dear Onyx.
She is NEVER going to support Perry (unless he wins, which he won't).
Newt needs to STFU on the Bain Capital crap.
Have you ever heard the saying, “You just don’t get it?”
Smart advice. Get behind Newt for SC, to help block Mitt and keep the process going. Not really an all-out ‘endorsement,’ but a deft way to try to block Mitt from running away with everything. Then, look at the lay of the land as Florida approaches, see how the Newt/Santorum/Perry options starts breaking out.
She CLEARLY doesn’t want Romney!
Glad she parsed her support with the word "today". My support for Newt is for "today". He needs to be kept on a short leash.
Here’s the full clip on Palin on Hannity tonight, via The Right Scoop:

I’m voting for Newt and I’m not changing my mind. I think my state will let me down and choose Mittens, but my vote is going to Newt. I have some friends that are planning to vote for Mittens, I think I have almost persuaded some to vote for Newt. Lots of people are convinced Mittens is the only one that can beat the Kenyan and they will vote for whoever the polls show has the best chance and you just cannot convince them other wise. I keep trying though.
No surprise here...she also backed McCain.
