I hope she flies to South Carolina and stumps for Newt the rest of this week, because that’s what it’s gonna take.

that would create a firestorm of support. No one can excite a crowd like Palin.

It would be funny to see Mitt and the elites reaction if she did such a thing. Mitt's buddies at FOX would make sure Sarah was fired.

I am so glad Sarah made the point that Mitt is NOT a Conservative. Conservatives all know that moderate=liberal :)

I wouldn’t necessarily argue that what Romney did should be illegal. It’s just highly unethical that they would essentially screw over their partners and their employees for their own profits. And even moreso since Romney portrays himself as a “turnaround artist” when a lot of their work was simply based on getting short-term cash out of the companies even if it made the companies unhealthy for the long-term. There do seem to be times where Bain crossed the line and got threatened with a lawsuit by the creditor.

You can bet that Fox News will find some way to trash her because she dare not choose Mittens. The last time she said something negative about Romney, Carl Cameron during the NH primary said some snarky comment about her, expect to see something like that again. Fox News, the Romney kiss ass Network

Ok, I listened to the video. Heard what she said and what she did not say. (For example, when Sean mentioned Todd Palin endorsing Newt, Sarah did not deny it or correct it.)

It sounds to me like she’s saying that Santorum, at the very least, ought to “take one for the team” and withdraw, and support Newt. She did not SAY that, but that’s what I read from the “take one for the team” comment, plus the way her voice rose when she first mentioned Santorum — indicating she doesn’t take him as seriously as the others, in terms of presidential material.

She is, in my interpretation, looking down the road and saying that eventually the anti-Romneys had better be ONE anti-Romney. She doesn’t want Romney to win. She’s being very, very careful and she’s tense, not liking how she has to parse this so meticulously. And she did say that she would go with Newt right now, if she were in SC. She was very careful to frame it as a right-this-moment call, but she likes Newt.

So do I! :)

She did say, as she's said before, that when it comes to the general election, she's ABO. So she wants to be able, later on, to get behind whomever the nominee turns out to be.

The only candidate she spoke against was Paul, and that, for his foreign policy views.

“Rush is willing to come out against a candidate as he has with Paul, I don’t know why he won’t come out for a candidate”

Let us see what Rush says tomorrow. Sarah has given Rush the opening to back Newt in South Carolina only. He can ride on her coat tails with a quasi-endorsement of Newt in South Carolina. Rush has the verbiage to get it done in the proper way.

I would only add that those accounting gimmicks that you mention are based on laws passed by a government that chooses to meddle in the free market.

I wouldn’t necessarily argue that what Romney did should be illegal.

It's not that Romney's actions should be made illegal. It that our bankruptcy laws, passed by our government, makes it legal for people to pocket other people's money from a bankruptcy.

FReepers selectively siting NYTimes articles that's an anti-free market capitalism pre-emptive strike against Candidate Romney? Sounds more like Dade's creditors didn't do their own due diligence and/or had very loose T's & C's on what their loans could be used for.

Again, I'm no Romney-bot, but let's focus on Romney's lack of Conservative principals instead of his ability to make a buck in the free market - leave that to the NYTimes.

It goes to his honesty and forthrightness as a candidate. He is portraying his business at Bain as something other than what it was or giving it a severe whitewash at best. His rhetoric on his business doesn’t match the record.

I did not see the interview(Thank goodness it repeats at 9pm for me) but I think this is also sending a message to Nikki Haley(A person she endorsed for Governor who now supports Romney) this out to be a very interesting primary in SC! I had a feeling when Todd endorsed Newt that Sarah was kind of endorsing him through Todd. Todd and Sarah are a team, I doubt they both support different people. She likes Santorum too but I think she sees that he doesn’t have a good chance of winning.
I like Newt, I think he can wipe the floor with Obama, that is why the Dems want Romney to be the nominee so badly, they know that Romney is such an utter bore and is NO Conservative. Heck Dems voted for Romney in NH for goodness sake! My Mom loves Newt, she saw the debate last night and thought he rocked. I hope that because of that debate and what Sarah said tonight that Newt does really well in SC

I am laughing so hard. She refused to say his name. Hannity would say, “So are you saying Mitt Romney...blahblahblah” and she would NOT say his name. She had no problem saying Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, or Newt, though!

She kept calling Mitt the “candidate” and the “front runner” and the “moderate”. I am thinking she had some other names for him at the tip of her tongue as well. LMBO!

I’ll add another conspiracy theory to the mix. What Sarah did tonight would be EXACTLY the right thing to do if she was still planning on jumping into the race at some point. She would need the race to continue and not have Romney coronated yet if she were to do that. She would also not want to be on record as endorsing another candidate in the overall primary. That quote would be a little awkward to have out there if she later entered the race.

She also can’t stand Romney, she knows what will happen to the GOP if Romney gets the nomination. I don’t know if she will enter the race later on, but I think the thing most important to her right now is making sure that Romney does NOT get the nomination. If he gets the nomination, Obama wins, she knows that, we all know that
