The financial package includes the use and creation of $3.1 million in tax-increment financing and a $2.4 million low-interest loan through the city of Superior, and the transfer of county-owned land next to the Bong Airport and a $500,000 loan through the Douglas County Revolving Loan Fund.
The state plans to participate in the project in a big way, with $30 million in New Market Tax Credits in 2012, $60 million in future allocations, plus a $2 million loan through the states Small Business Credit Initiative Program through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will add $18 million in Enterprise Zone Tax Credits and a $2 million economic development loan to the pot. Walker said the creation of the economic development corporation from the former Department of Commerce provided an pportunity for the state to move at the speed of business rather than the speed of government, helping to facilitate the deal.

Bong Airport? We need one of those here in Hempfield Township where I live. Far out, dude.
Why not give the company credit for also getting private funding as well. Some people think you can create a business in a vacuum.
We are all getting poorer because of “Job creating” boondoggles like this. Let government handle the minimal job they were created for and let businessmen and women do they jobs.
What we need is a wall of seperation between business and government.

My old stomping ground....
Which constitution?
As is most often in the cases of local GOV offering low cost loans and tax breaks it is to lure a business to their area opposed to it going to another area, who also is likely offering similar lure. Noting new and is mostly not a boondagle like Solyndra.
Government picking winners and losers. Yup, nothing new and by definition a boondoggle.
Although this indeed could be a boondagle, having a local GOV lure in a company is usually a winner for local workers and local businesses.
If I was from the Peoples Republic of MN, I too might be real skeptical. Between Dayton, Ventura and Franken, you definately have good cause to worry.
You either believe in the state interfering with business or you don’t. I don’t. I believe in freedom.
Wisconsin Kestral Deal (Superior) Ping
If you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list, just FReep Mail me and it shall be done.
Maine lost that deal and most there thinks is was fishy.
Think the administration is giving Walker a bomb. Or maybe his union state workers are laying the bomb?
In a libertarian world only those with the bigger and faster gun would flourish. No different than ronpaul poking in his Earmarks to every Bill, then voting against the Bill knowing he will still stealthily get his goodies.
The Founding Fathers did not establish a libertarian state, because they too knew that even though it may sound appealing it would never work with any fundimental fairness or general prosperity.
No, you're thinking of an anarchist world. Libertarians believe government ought to prevent violations of rights - and otherwise mind their business.
LOL, in your world only Ron Paul could possible be against government picking winners and losers. You get caught defending big government statism, you attack Ron Paul.
It is SOOOO easy to be a statist.
Just an FYI, Bong was a famous fighter ace and Cong Medal of Honor winner.

Enjoy the humor though.
All I can say is that most of the Paul supporters I know, either well or in passing, then are anarchists.
