Here in Pennsylvania, Republicans went along with a law that saidn that business owners could not permit smoking on their premises. I called our Republican state senator to remind him that Republicans were supposed to oppose big government sent me a letter saying that it was not an extension of big government, since a majority of Pennsylvanians agreed with it. We assume Republicans are more in favor of freedom than Democrats at our peril
Here’s a hint, we elect statist and petty autocrats regardless of which Mafia family they belong in.

You got marty60. Politicians will sell out anyone if the price is right! Their love of other peoples money blinds them. Their greed causes them to abandon their honor. The Rs and Ds will trample our Constitution and sell our freedom if they think they can get more of our money.
The Rs never think it is a big government issue if they support something. Your Senator was right in that enough vocal people can make politicians do something, even if they do not agree. Our ONLY hope is that enough liberty loving Americans will stand united in peaceful defense of each others God-given freedom. Bureaucrats and politicians attack the freedom of one minority group after another and depend on the apathy of our fellow Americans to allow them to get away with it. Our Sweet Lady Liberty is slowly dying the death of a 1,000 cuts. Will enough people wake up before she sheds her last drop of crimson blood and we are free no more? How many generations will never know the freedom we have been blessed with because too many people did nothing and allowed it to slip away?

It’s part of that “COMMERCE BETWEEN MASTER AND SLAVE” thingee from which silly old Thomas Jefferson and Co. tried to protect us all — when they specified that securing the inalienable rights of the governed was ~supposed to be the constrained purpose for AMERICAN government.
But, never mind all that. Who’s winning American Idol and Dancing with the Starz in-between hyphenated commercials for Viagra and Sleeping pills — ~that’s what’s important to We the Red White and Rainbow McSheeple nowadays.
I saw a really great quote about when societies reach heights
they destroy themselves with greed etc.
Basically, humans struggle to attain get heights (tower of babel?) yet when they reach the top they forget WHAT got them to that point.
Look at America. Our great Country was built on the Judeo Christian ethics of the 10 commandments. Our founders were flawed men, not unlike Moses. Yet God touched them with the great idea of America.
Here we are: The Supreme Court had ordered the 10 commandments barred from the public square. Christians and Jews are ridiculed and hated. The evil of the world is moving at breakneck speed to destroy our very souls.
And I think this election may be the final nail.
What gets me is that people that want true entrepreneurial capitalism are berated and called “commies” by the establishment. If you aren’t for the Socialist model of large “state owned” (by regulations and bailouts) then somehow you are uninformed or a subversive.
We don’t have another 4 years to wait to stop this death march.
