A SCOTUS Ordered End To Health Insurance Mandates Means Big Trouble For GOP Presidential Candidate
Forbes ^ | 1/16/12 | R Ungar

Despite the bravado exhibited by the GOP presidential candidates—each angling to outdo the other when promising to enter the White House with guns ablazin’ for the Affordable Care Act—their rhetoric is fraught with some very real dangers to their party—not to mention the nation—when it comes to actually pulling the trigger.

So, we have to depend on Congress to make it law that they cannot regulate insurance? What could go wrong? /s

As I read, I did not see who does regulate or oversee or act as watchdog on insurance companies, even within individual States, let alone between States. I do not trust anyone, much, so that may be a flaw that needs consideration.

I don’t trust anyone either!

The plan is for congress to pass a law allows people to buy insurance from a carrier licensed in a different state.

That’s it.

The states continue to regulate the industry but are now forced to compete with other states.

So NJ can keep piling on the regulations and mandates but I can purchase my insurance in say KS, and KS will be the regulator of my company/policy.

Same old story: The Democrats propose to tear down the Washington Monument, and the Republicans respond with a workable plan to do it in three stages.

When the Republicans say “repeal and replace,” what they are really telling you is that they think they can do socialism better than the Dems, and intend to try.

Just a twisted, tinfoil, paranoid thought from reading the thread title .. and projecting:

A SCOTUS Ordered End To Health Insurance Mandates Means Big Trouble For GOP Presidential Candidate

if Bondi and the 25 other state attys general who’re fighting Ocare before SCOTUS, and who ARE (according to Bondi) all supporting Romney, are so invested and could be as blatantly ‘bought’ by him for a future cushy position as Bondi is, is it possible they could ever sink so low as to put on a purposely losing case?

I hate the reality in this great nation that there are govt officials whose documented, underhanded, evil deviousness naturally provokes such speculation ..
