Brand new computer.
Seriously? You drop that on someone's thread who is obviously in distress and having computer problems? Are you a sadist?
you have to find out what it is called and search for that three letter program in the registry
that is the only way to remove it permanently
Thanks for the empathy. With all the good people and good info on this forum, I think it’s gone and I’m taking steps to ensure it doesn’t come back. Like you, I got a ton of good information and resources from it.
And thanks for the question about the books. The next is “Sovereign Order”. John and Katherine do get together and head off to the Monaco Grand Prix where Iranian backed terrorists try to destroy the principality with WMD. Should be around June or so.
Also, I’ve got a short story called “Execution Dock” coming out in the International Thriller Writers third anthology, Love is Murder. Release date on that is May 29, 2012.
Ran full Malwarebytes scan again and this time it says no detection. But if I go into Windows Explorer and look, this file is still in the same place. It says file size is 1kb. Does that seem right? Can I just manually delete this file? Just hit delete in Windows Explorer?
What happens if I uninstall JAVA entirely? I did note that, as the scan was running, the Java shield was flashing asking for permission to update. Might Java updating clear out the bad file?
Also, I backed-up the registry and started to look and realized I didn't know where to look. A ton of files seem to have three-letter names.
It doesn’t “emulate” anything.it has the same core and runs windows better than a pc does because it is a pc.
No I know a lot more than just marketing.I would say that it is you who don;’t know what you are talking about but then you’d just vomit some other nonsense....
How can something that “is a pc” run an application “better than a pc”?
You sound like a MAC salesman trying way to hard to make a sale.
“NEVER NEVER NEVER run your computer without 2 things:
anti-virus (www.avast.com is free and GREAT)
and malwarebytes.com”
I run those programs at work and when I make “house calls” to the technically disadvantaged. At home, I run Linux.
this is a nasty one to get rid of
google “windows 7 security virus” and there are a ton of pages with detailed instruction
Virtual machines are a great defense against malware.
If you want to be immune, just set up a couple of virtual machines with Ubuntu installed to use for web browsing only. Take a snapshot in each right after installation is complete. Use one of them only for banking, brokerage, and e-commerce. Use the other for all other browsing. First of all, you won't get a virus, because Ubuntu is even more immune than Mac OS. But, if you do, the damage will be confined to the VM, and you can erase it in seconds by reverting the VM back to its post-installation snapshot.
Steve was big fan of Pablo Picasso.
So, from what he says in that video, Jobs would be OK with me stealing a copy of his OS and building a hackintosh?
No, I guess not.
It means that they all are personal computers it is just with Mac’s all of the parts are made to work together rather than the way all of the cheepers ones are made with what ever fits.No salesperson and have no money invest in them either just someone who has used and worked on one for over 15 years without the first problem.
