Top conservative talker Rush Limbaugh says Newt Gingrich may have made a "good move" by raising Mitt Romney's Bain dealings -- even if the criticisms had some mistakes. Limbaugh, on his show Friday, also noted that Gingrich's Bain attacks came after Romney allies spent millions of dollars in negative ads attacking Gingrich, which Gingrich has said included falsehoods or distortions of his record. Rush read Gingrich's statement asking his supporters that run Winning Our Future Super Pac to fix their video about Bain or pull it. Rush said: "Newt Gingrich released the following statement calling for truth and accuracy from campaigns and so-called 'Super-PACs' supporting candidates. 'The American people have a right to know the facts about the records of the men and women who are asking them for their vote. Governor Romney is running as someone who knows how to create jobs. In fact, he has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs while at Bain Capital. However, numerous analyses have said that figure is as inaccurate as President Obama's claim to have "saved or created" millions of jobs. Furthermore, Governor Romney's experience as a portfolio manager did not help him create an environment in Massachusetts that was friendly to job creation.'" Rush continued: "It goes on, but basically what Newt is saying here, what he announced today, "I am calling for the Winning Our Future Super-PAC supporting me to either edit its 'King of Bain' advertisement and movie to remove its inaccuracies, or to pull it off the air and off the internet entirely," and I am urging Romney to do the same. Good exchange. Doubt she would have any chance this year- ony because look what they’re doing to Cain, Newt and Perry—Romney has gazillions to spend. The GOP Establishment would rip her up before she boarded the jet to the states.
Take care.
“Never thought I’d ever hear myself say that about Rush, but it does appear that he’s become one of the elites now.”
Rush always aspired to be one of the financially elite, he’s never made much of a pretense otherwise. And he’s certainly among the elite radio talents.
But while politics has been his vehicle for achieving his dreams, it’s telling that he never bothered to vote until he was 38 years old. Which means he even neglected to vote for Reagan.
I suspect that a large number of us here at FR not only voted at the first chance we got, but that we also volunteered on campaigns. It’s what you do when politics is your passion. Somehow I don’t think it ever really was Rush’s passion. Football is. Golf. Making money and rubbing shoulders with the financial elites. But really being passionate about conservative politics? I don’t think so. It’s his gig, and he identifies with conservatives, although he’s really more of an “achiever” than a conservative.
Oh, there's no doubt whatsoever that Rush monitors Free Republic. I've personally heard him repeat things that were posted here for the first time, just days or hours before his show. Heck, he even lifted my tagline once.
I've been hanging out at FR since about 2003, and have been listening to Rush even longer. I know what you say to be a fact.
You know, Mark Levin monitors FR too, except he makes sure to give us a hat tip when he mentions something he found here. He'll even mention individual Freepers by name. Good man, Levin. He's one of our very best.
I stepped aside from Rush years ago when he gushed vomit about how wonderful it was to be in the company of the NY Rockefellers. Every now and then he seems to come back to his memories of Rio Linda CA.
So true. Rush was so happy to broadcast his association with the Rockefellers.
He’s not providing anything I don’t find here, that’s for sure.
They’re both corrupted. Which one is the most corrupted is merely a matter of perception. It’s like the husband who beats the wife, then blames the wife. Then in the end, the wife supports, and defends, the husband.
It’s really pathetic. Yet, I envision no outlet. Since, in all likelihood, one of the two corrupt bass turds will be the nominee. Here we go again. Hold your nose to vote.
Aren’t up tired of this chickenshit, yet? I know I am. I’d rather stroll down a dark Bronx alley alone, in the middle of the night. Odds are against my survival, especially as a white guy with a southern accent. But at the same time, the odds of either of these bass turd socialists saving us from statist rule, are the same as Obama becoming a capitalist.
I know at least some haven’t thought about it. But the time draws ne’er. This is the day of reckoning. Where will you stand? Will you stand for the Constitution? Or will you stand for more socialism, albeit in smaller doses?
What do you think of post #60 on this thread?
Any problem with firms like Bain acquiring a troubled company, stripping its assets, and looting its pension fund?
Personally, I’m still wresting with a lot of this stuff - not real familiar with the practice.

Were you on the Newport News?
I love Levin but don’t get to listen to him often, anymore, due to work hours. What was the tagline he mentioned?
He is certainly using this site for show prep.
Someone needs to post an open letter to Rush post so it will catch his eye....a link should appear at the head of every post so he can't miss it
After his anti-Newt rant I was depressed....and it definitely was anti-Newt.
I'm sure he does, because I got into an on-line fight with him last May.
I posted and he responded over the air. It was the day he admitted that he completely missed the NY-26 special election, where the most conservative district in New York went to a Democrat.

Newt’s going to win.
No doubt he reads FR.
Not too many years ago El Rushbo referred to an article I posted here.
He repeated my comment to the post as he started his monologue about the article.
Rush is Rush. I don’t think he believes ANY of the candidates currently left standing are that conservative. In my opinion—the way I heard it—he’s just calling the events as he sees them.
In any case, I’m at the point where any one of the candidates will do... whoever gets the nomination. None of the candidates left in the race may not be a true 100% conservative, but they are a hell of lot better than the one in charge right now.
I think it’s a good thing for two reasons: 1)It makes the issue old news when the Dems raise it in the general election and 2)It prepares Romney for the kind of attack he can expect from the Dems on his background in the private sector.
Agree 100% !
I think it’s a good thing because it helps indicate to the intelligent primary voter that “buyout baron” Mitt Romney is unelectable and that nominating him would be a disaster for our party that would propel Obama into a second term with a new sense of vindication that his communist policies are what America wants.
There are automated bots that can search websites for every mention of your name. I’ve heard Rush mention using one. He’ll see the open letter as well as every post here that mentions his name, there’s no need to try to get his attention.
If Aesop has anything to say...
Newt calls himself the tortoise!
