Why would you think that? He does just fine against Newt and blows Romney away in the head to head.

I doubt that.
The biggest knock that some have against Santorum in debates is that he's "surly" or whatever... but hey, so is Obama (just go back and watch his debates with McCain)- so they would be neutralized in this aspect. Yeah, Newt would do very well against Obama in debates- but debates aren't everything, and who knows what's going to come out of his mouth from one minute to the next during the long campaign season?
He would certainly try, but it’s pretty hard for a groundskeeper to attack the potential new hire, when the grass is all dead.
Santorum will appeal to many U. S. Citizens. I think he might surprise you.
