Tebow is really not a very good NFL caliber quarterback. He seems to be a great person, has a winning attitude, but the reality is he is not very good. People seem to forget his/Denver’s 3 game losing streak going into the playoffs - including being absolutely destroyed by the crappy Bills.

Denver is an 8-8 team and Tebow is an average QB at best. Perhaps he will get better, but I bet 18 months from now when all the Tebowmania has died down we will see Denver quietly release him because Tebow quite simply isn’t that good.

Odds are New England is going to destroy Denver this weekend. It could get ugly too. Think 44-10 or so ugly. Yes, I will be rooting for Tebow too. Can’t help it. I do like the guy and it’s fun pulling for the underdog, but the reality is Denver/Tebow are likely to get absolutely pummeled.

He may not be polished now, but nobody's going to work harder at improving himself than Tebow. The ESPN documentary chronicling his life from the end of his college career to draft day showed some of the absolutely prodigious training he did. Now that he'll have an offseason and a reasonable promise of being next year's starter, I think he can smooth out a lot of the rough edges.

From your lips to God's ear, man . . .

I think---I hope---NE will win, but I don't think it's going to be a blowout by any stretch of the imagination. Denver did a lot of things to lose the game when they squared off earlier in the regular season. Granted, NE took advantage of Denver's miscues, but there are just too many question marks on the defensive side of the ball for NE, and I think Denver will be able to put up some points.

I am no expert but it seems to me that Tebow is doing better than most rookie quarterbacks. I too think that the Patriots will win big but I don’t think it will bode poorly for Tebow’s career. His mechanics can only get better and his instincts and leadership qualities seem to serve his team well. I doubt he will be the next Payton Manning but I think he will have a decent career and will proably get more exposure than most by being one of the few actual role models in the league.

Tebow was one of the best QB in college football. I started liking him prior to the draft when the attacks against him started. First his faith then his throwing motion, then his team, then, then, then...

He has played less then one season of games - 15 games he is a rookie and has improved over the year and I think next year will continue to improve based on he personally and history of getting better at every level he has tried.

Had Cam Newton done what Tebow done everyone would be at the alter of Cam but cam lost and did not lead his team.

I don’t think the Bronco’s will win this weekend the other team is just too good and the bronco’s will continue the three man rush giving the other team too much time.

It will be a good game and we can looking forward to many years of TT in the NFL. One day I hope my son can play with him.

“...really not a very good...”

A 1st year newbie QB on a team with a losing record wins the starter slot and changes that team’s fortune and gets them to the playoffs and then beats the Steelers in the first round of the post season and yet you say he isn’t very good.

You must really hate Southpaws.

Football reasons are part of the equation, but so is money. Bottom line, the kid sells jerseys. If I remember right, he sold more as a rookie than any rookie before him. And I imagine those numbers are up.

Tebow wasn't #2 on the depth chart, Elway just served him up to be slaughtered. The defense wasn't great, the offense - nothing. But the roar from fans was heard, and Elway hung him out to dry. And if Tim gets released in 18 months because he can't QB an NFL team, a lot of owners out there will want to pick him up, tell him that he can try tight-end or some such, and enjoy the new fans and jersey sales...I think he will be in the league as long as he wants to be - unless he loses the squeaky clean image. If he gets married, he will probably lose (female) fans...

I agree! I have a further problem in that I have been a Patriots fan since 1970. The last decade has been really good for me after the prior 30 years of humiliation.

I hope Tebow does real good but looses to the Patriots. You cant help but like the guy

Anyone that says that Tebow is not a good NFL quarterback illustrates their football ignorance and their inability to think creatively. Don't worry, that includes 90 percent of the NFL pundits, so you are in good company. Tebow is not a good dropback passer in the mold of the classics, like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. I will grant you that. However, what Tebow does is make the QB a threat to run on every single play. The defense has to worry about a QB run, instead of keying the run defense to the running backs. That is a significant advantage to the offense, if the offense adjusts its tactics accordingly. Denver is getting better at creating the kind of offense that can take advantage of having an extra running back in the backfield, and when they mix it up well, as they did against the Steelers and in some of the regular season games, they succeed. Where they fail is when they rely too heavily on the run, instead of using the threat of the run to improve the odds on the passes.

Michael Vick is also a great running QB with a strong arm who has not been utilized to the full extent of his capabilities. He is more fragile than Tebow, so it is understandable that he rarely runs except as an unplanned scramble. When he came into the league, he was killing teams with his running, and his passing was not that great. No matter, his team won, and he passed well enough. Now, he is very sharp with his passes, and his arm is still strong. Tebow will get better as time goes on, too. But until then, teams can win with him just as he is, as Denver proved last week.

Tebow won't be a pure pocket passer like Marino but he could become something like a bigger version of Steve Young. The experts didn't like the way Steve Young threw the ball when he came out of college. He had better mechanics at this stage of his career but he still improved as he gained experience.

Passing rating of 125 against the Steeler defense? Yeah he just got lucky. You're right, Tebow sucks. Just ask Troy Palomalu--he's got a lot of time on his hands right now, he'll be glad to agree with you probably.

Geez, we got einsteins galore around here.

David wasn't a very good Philistine caliber opponent to Goliath.
