Our tanks are in Afghanistan, and our military leadership has shown a willingness to even say that lawful authorization for combat orders is “irrelevant” to the lawfulness of those orders.

If the military ever steps up to save the Republic from Obama it will be rogue elements within the military - not the military establishment.

I’ve been reading up on Hitler’s rise to power. In order to go past the rank-and-file military at the start of his power grab he raised up the SA to do his take-over thug-work for him, and then later to get the rank-and-file to support him he betrayed the SA on the Night of the Long Knives (executing Rohm, for instance) only to replace them with the SS which was fully under his control.

I think the German template has to be understood because we see so many parallels. And back when Lt Col Lakin was being court-martialed I said that if the military claimed power independent of the Authorization to Use Force (which stipulates that only the Commander-in-Chief has the authority to decide to use force in the war on terror), it would mean that the law is “irrelevant” to the lawfulness of orders. It would separate the military from the law, and the military would be lawless - ruled merely by men and not by any semblance of law.

We are in very, very serious times.

I see a dictator as similar to a computer trojan. The pop-up pretending to be McAfee says your computer is infected and you must click on the “Fix” box. Once you make the mistake of clicking the box, the trojan has complete control to make your computer do whatever it wants and you have no way of knowing what it’s doing or stopping it. From that point on you can’t trust anything. That’s exactly what happened with Hitler. Once his cabinet was lawfully given permission to legislate without the Reichstag, Hitler had the power to lawfully do whatever he wanted, and he took over all the systems.

The point at which to stop a trojan or a dictator is when they are seeking the authorizations - which is always made to look like a small but necessary thing in order to effectively respond to a current problem. We see Obama making those moves right now. And we’ve already seen that the military leadership has no will to resist his lawlessness.

And why should they? It is he who put them in the positions of power, just like he put into power the US Attorneys (such as the AZ US attorney who is guilty of trying to cover up Fast and Furious’ lawless war on Mexico and the US), AG Holder, DHS head Napolitano, SCOTUS injustices Sotomayor and Kagan, etc. The election of November 2008 gave him the power to totally take over the execution branch of the government. He gets to put whatever .exe files he wants into this system, and we’ve seen the crap he puts in and how they take over everything.

He didn’t need an “Enabling Act of 1933” in order to sidestep Congress; he simply appointed “czars”. And now he’s on this big kick of saying he will do what he wants, with or without Congress, so he’s blatantly defying the Constitution without fear - because he knows Congress only has the power to impeach and the Senate stooges will never convict him.

If anybody in Congress tries suing him, Obama already knows he has the courts by the jugular, as evidenced by even the “conservative” justices (I believe Chief Justice John Roberts) being willing to pretend that a usurper in the White House isn’t a serious enough issue to warrant a hearing.

To be truthful, at this point I believe Congress has to reclaim its own sole authority to decide to use military force. That’s the only way to keep Obama from using the military to complete his own coup. The Libya escapade might well have been Obama’s testing of the waters, to see how far Congress was willing to let him go. They failed that test so now Obama knows he can do whatever he darn well pleases with the military.
