If youve ever used the Internet, you have an online identity. Maybe its slight: a Hotmail account here, a comment on a news story there. Or maybe youve been more prolific, leaving a trail of usernames, accounts, messages, and profiles across the digital landscape. In any case, an active internet user owes it to himself to do a bit of self-Googling. What youll find will be both enlightening and humblingeven worrying.

OK, I did not read the sidebar. The IE logo fooled me.
Sorry.
Have been a Firefox user from almost the first release.
Have used a lot of plug-ins. Currently really like “Better Privacy”.
Have used Linux since around 1994. First version was a UMSDOS version of Slackware.

I used it for a while and found it not that good.
Have been using www.scroogle.org lately. It is OK.

The IP masking does work.
I only played with it for a few minutes, but there doesn’t seem to be much lag from using the proxy servers either.
I would not put too much faith in this though. I somehow doubt that no records are kept anywhere as to the originating IP.

Yes, I agree. The Feds would never allow that.
My local ISP just forced us to go through google for e-mail. Using the existing e-mail address, but through a gmail alias.
Not happy with that change. Called and told them. I know their techies, good guys. I know the reason they changed, administration cost and cost of the required record keeping. No pay off. It is a small but good, local coop telephone system. Very innovative and they give good service to some remote areas.
I am looking for another e-mail agent, but am not liking the choices I have found so far.

Don’t know if anyone can get totally clean - but with Janet and her totalitarian goons looking for political enemies - it’ll soon become important. Everyone who’s young needs to bookmark this page.

I have a pretty uncommon name. Spokeo.com can’t decide if I’m black or white, male or female, 20 or 40, make $35k or $165k, or what my sign is. Not impressed.
