Former first lady Laura Bush wishes there were one more candidate in the Republican presidential primary: Jeb Bush.
Speaking to a sold-out Sarasota audience on Wednesday, Bush said she had hoped that her brother-in-law and former Florida governor would have jumped into the race this year.

Senility has hit Laura hard since leaving DC.
Dear Lord....no more Bushes.
Jeb was my Governor, and I loved him..IMHO I think because he is married to a Mexican-American causes the hate for Jeb...as I said this is MHO!! BTW he is not an open border person either.
While I agree that I don’t want any more Bush’s, he’d still be better than either Obama or Romney.
You should think twice before writing that
No more Bushs
“Maybe Bush II listened to her too much in the second term of office.”
I’ve wondered the same. Baseline though, they are elitist, globalist, and culturally Northeastern. There was little of substance offered to conservatives under either Bush administration. We were bamboozled.
Actually, this might have been a good thing. Just as the conservatives are splitting the anti-Romney vote, Jeb would have drawn away much of Romney’s RINO support. Plus, the establishment types would have been in a conundrum trying to decide on whom to support: Jeb or Romney.
The Bush hatred here is a sure sign of sickness. get help ...you people need it
Agreed, but I would think the Bush’s themselves would have had enough of being the center of derision from all corners. Laura should know it’s time to retire from the limelight for the entire Bush clan.
Oh, no! That’s worthy of Chiller TV. Can you imagine?
Not sure if Laura is an abortion “lover”, but it was common knowledge that she’s pro-abortion. What the hell is she thinking — Jeb. Puh-leeeze!
“Jeb is an experienced, articulate candidate who could unite social and fiscal conservatives. Southern governors traditionally do well in general elections.”
He was punked by a district judge. What would he do against a real adversary? Fold is what he would do.
No. Never. None of them. All they have done with success is to dismantle the Reagan revolution and the Reagan coalition.
“Plus, the establishment types would have been in a conundrum trying to decide on whom to support: Jeb or Romney.”
Romney is a palooka. He is intended to fail and he will. Jeb they would try to get in. There would be no head to head fight between these two. Not for long, anyway.
And they are backing Romney. Great.
The Rove/McCain/Bush Axis rolls on. But miracles do happen.
Pray for a resurgence of Santorum or Gingrich. I think Perry is pretty much cooked.
“Pray for a resurgence of Santorum or Gingrich. I think Perry is pretty much cooked.”
I am, and with sadness I agree on Perry being finished. Part of the reason I like him is because Bush people do not.
Are they all his sons? All 5!?
Yep. Despite all the Perry=Bush nonsense, the fact is the Bushes dislike Perry greatly.
